Owatrol Aquanett is a powerful, environmentally friendly wood oil remover that restores weathered and UV-darkened exterior timber. Ideal for stripping new, old, or heavily encrusted oils, it also effectively removes mill glaze from new wood in order to boost adhesion of future finishes.

Remove any loose and flaking finish.

Brush off any physical surface contamination i.e. moss, general dirt etc

• Apply a thick coat of Aquanett over the whole surface to be stripped. For large areas work in zones.
• Allow the product to work (max 5 minutes).
• Scrub the surface with a stiff nylon scrubbing brush while flushing with water
• Thoroughly rinse the surface after stripping with fresh clean water.
• After stripping and rinsing, surfaces must immediately be treated with Net-Trol while still wet to neutralise the surface.

Q. Why is it important to use Net-Trol after stripping wood with Aquanett?

Ans: Using Net-Trol after stripping wood with Aquanett is essential because it neutralises the active ingredients left behind by the stripper. Without neutralising, Aquanett can continue reacting with the wood, which may lead to surface damage, uneven staining, or poor adhesion of subsequent finishes. Net-Trol restores the wood’s natural pH, brightens the surface, and ensures it’s properly prepared for any further treatment or coating.

Q. Can I use Aquanett on hardwoods like Oak, Teak, or Ipe?

Ans: Yes, Aquanett can be used on hardwoods, including exotic species such as Oak, Teak, Ipe, and Cedar. However, these types of wood are rich in tannins and may darken temporarily when treated with Aquanett.

Q. Why does the wood darken after using Aquanett?

Ans: The darkening is a natural reaction caused by the tannins in the wood when they come into contact with Aquanett. This is a normal and expected effect on tannin-rich hardwoods.

Q. What should I do if the wood darkens after using Aquanett?

Ans: Do not allow the wood to dry after applying Aquanett. While the surface is still wet, it is recommended to apply Net-Trol to neutralize and restore the natural colour of the wood.

Q. What happens if I let the wood dry before applying Net-Trol?

Ans: Allowing the wood to dry before neutralizing with Net-Trol can make it more difficult to restore its original appearance. For best results, it is recommended to apply Owatrol Netrol while the surface is still damp from Aquanett.

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
