Owatrol ESP Easy Surface Prep is a convenient wipe-on/wipe-off solution for priming and preparing shiny surfaces prior to painting. Ideal for non-porous surfaces like ceramic tiles and melamine units, ESP offers a safe and effective prep method. Its user-friendly properties include being easy on the hands, colourless, and virtually odourless. Simply apply with a lint-free cloth for effortless application and removal.

Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, ESP allows for painting within 2 hours of application or up to 7 days later.

First clean and dry all surfaces to remove oil, grease and other contaminants and remove any loose and flaking old finish. For oily, greasy, waxed or varnished surfaces prepare by scrubbing with a green scourer or 00 steel wool soaked with ESP. Wipe clean after 5-10 minutes then follow the standard application instructions.

Apply ESP generously with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. If ESP crawls or separates, the surface is not clean. Wipe off ESP and re-clean according to above directions before continuing. Leave to stand for 5 minutes then lightly wipe over the surface in one direction with a clean cloth to remove any excess ESP. Allow to dry for 2 hours. When dry, ESP may be left up to 7 days before applying the finish. If this time has passed, re-apply ESP as directed before painting.

Q: What can you apply to ESP?

A: Any water-based or oil-based, acrylic or alkyd paint or varnish. If the paint can be cleaned with water or white spirit, it will be all right for ESP.

Q: What does it mean if the paint won't spread properly when applied?

A: This means that the ESP wasn't sufficiently dry when the paint was applied. In this case, wipe off the paint before it dries. Reapply the ESP. Allow to dry. Use a hairdryer to accelerate drying. Reapply the paint.

Q: What if the paint crawls or separates when applied?

A:In such cases, the surface was either not clean or the ESP was not dry. In such cases remove all coatings, clean the surface thoroughly, and reapply ESP, ensuring it is completely dry before starting to paint.

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items
