Tinted Colour Information

Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dirt, grease, grime and mildew.

New Wood Surfaces

• Clean the wood and allow to dry for 48 hours or until it reaches a moisture content of 19% or less.
• New wood can have a hard, shiny surface known as mill glaze, which can limit penetration and prevent proper coating adhesion. Apply one coat of Owatrol Seasonite and allow the wood to weather for a minimum of 6 months before applying Owatrol Decking Paint.

Weathered Wood Surfaces

• Uncoated wood that has weathered for more than 6 months must be thoroughly cleaned before finishing. Use Owatrol Net-Trol according to the label instructions, together with a pressure washer or stiff-bristle brush, to remove loose fibres, dirt and other surface contaminants. Sand with 100-grit sandpaper if necessary.
• Ensure the surface is free from dirt, grease, grime, mildew and previous coatings.
• After cleaning, allow the wood to dry for 48 hours or until it reaches a moisture content of 19% or less before applying the finish.

Previously Coated Surfaces

• Sand or scrape away all loose, flaking or peeling coatings. If required, strip the surface with Owatrol Dilunett and neutralise with Owatrol Net-Trol.
• Ensure the surface is clean and free from dirt, grease, grime, mildew and any remaining loose coatings.
• After cleaning, allow the wood to dry for 48 hours or until it reaches a moisture content of 19% or less before applying the finish.

Important: Cedar, Redwood and hardwoods may darken when treated with Owatrol Dilunett. If this occurs, brighten the surface with Owatrol Net-Trol before continuing. For Oak and Chestnut, manually or mechanically sand the wood, remove dust and wash with Owatrol Net-Trol to clean the surface.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results

• Apply an even coat of Owatrol Decking Paint, avoiding heavy application, using a high-quality synthetic stain brush, a tight knit synthetic roller sleeve or Airless sprayer.
• Allow to dry for 3–4 hours.
• Then apply a second coat.

Airless Spray application: .017-.021 tip at 1800-2000 psi (124-138 bars).

Note: When spraying, immediately back-brush or back-roll the surface to ensure even colour, coverage and penetration.

Shelf life: 1 year minimum in original unopened packaging.

Surfaces exposed to harsh weather or heavy traffic may experience faster wear. In these areas, clean the affected surface and recoat as needed.

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
