Sadolin Wet Wood Decking Stain is a water-based, satin, stain that offers the ultimate defence for exterior decking. Formulated specially to be applied to wet and dry wood so there is no need to depend on the unpredictable British weather. It contains biocides to protect against mould and algae growth and advanced UV technology for a durable, long-lasting finish.

Always ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry, and free from any contaminates which may affect adhesion.

• Wash the surface with a mild detergent and rinse with clean water.
• Remove any algae growth with a fungicidal wash.
• Remove any pools of water after cleaning or rain.
• Lightly sand if necessary or scrub with a non-metallic brush in the direction of the grain to remove any loose particles.
• Any greyed wood should be either sanded back or cleaned with a reviver to a clean sound surface.
• Use a scrapper to remove any resinous deposits.
• Remove any remaining residues and degrease by wiping with a clean, lint-free cloth, dampened with methylated spirits.
• Abrade timber by sanding with 240 grit sandpaper, working in the direction of the wood grain.
• Fill any minor defects, imperfections, or open joints with Sadolin Stainable Woodfiller.
• Coat any new, non-treated wood with a wood preserver such as Sadolin Quick Dry Wood Preserver.
• Sadolin Wet Wood Decking Stain is not suitable for use on surfaces previously coated with a higher build finish, such as varnish or paint. These coatings should be removed completely with a suitable stripper or by sanding.

It is recommended to perform a test patch on a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results. Do not apply if there is a risk of rain, or when temperatures are below 8°C or above 25°C.

• Stir thoroughly before use.
• For best results use a good quality synthetic bristle brush.
• Apply in a full flowing coat, ensuring to pay special attention to end grains.
• Avoid overspreading as this will affect performance.

Whilst this product can be applied to wet wood do not apply in rain or showery weather.

Q. If I apply Sadolin Wet Wood Decking Stain to wet decking, will this leave my wood patchy?

A. No, this product is unique as it allows you to stain your decking even when the wood is wet allowing an even finish throughout that won't flake or peel away! Always ensure there is no pooling of water for best results.

Q. If my wood is wet, how long will it take for Sadolin Wet Wood Decking Stain to dry?

A. Touch dry 2-4 hours. recoat is 4-6 hours Ensure no rain is forecast and ensure temperature is no lower than 8 degrees.

Q. If this is a water based product will the product become dilute if it is applied to wet wood?

A. No, as long as there are no signs of pooling of water then this will not dilute the product. Its unique formulation penetrates deep into the wood allowing an even stain throughout.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items
