Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain is a premium quality woodstain ideal for protecting exterior softwood and hardwoods. Formulated to offer a highly flexible finish that will resist flaking, cracking, and peeling whilst protecting against UV damage. The high level of water repellency provides long-lasting protection for exterior doors windows and doors.

Always ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry, and dirt free to ensure adhesion.
- Degrease any exposed bare timber by wiping with a cloth dampened with methylated spirits.
- Fill any surface defects, imperfections, or open joints with an appropriate filler such as Sadolin Woodfiller.
- Only use non-ferrous screws, nails, and fixings.
- Any non-preservative treated softwood timber should be treated with Sadolin Quick Dry Wood Preserver.
- Base Stained Joinery - Lightly abraded in the direction of the grain but do not break the surface coating.
- “Knotting agents” should not be used with Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain.
We recommend always following the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin. Stir thoroughly, it is recommended that a small test area is applied before painting the entire surface to ensure compatibility.
- Supplied ready to use, do not thin.
- It is recommended to apply one coat of Sadolin Classic prior to application of Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain.
- For best results use a long-haired, soft bristle brush.
- Pay special attention to end grain, tops and bottoms of doors, and undersides of cills. Ensure these areas are fully coated.
- Apply 2 coats, allowing 16-24 hours between coats.
Note: Do not apply if there is a risk of rain or if temperatures are below 8°C and above 25°C.
Q. Will I need a base coat for Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain when applying to my new doors and windows?
A. Yes, it is advised to use the Sadolin Classic All Purpose Woodstain as a base coat. You will only require one coat as a base and two coats of the Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain to fully protect your windows and doors. Using this system will give you 3-5 years of protection.
Q. Will I need to apply another base coat when doing maintenance touch ups?
A. No, you do not require to paint another base coat for maintenance. You just need to ensure the area is clean, dry and free from dirt and grease and sand off any flaking or peeling paint before reapplying Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain.
Q. Can Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain be applied to bare/ new timber?
A. If the wood has no factory preservatives, we advises to use the Sadolin Wood Preserver before applying the Extra Durable Woodstain. This includes any newly exposed timber to ensure the wood has protection against rot. Any new wood that has a preservative treatment pre applied you can apply Sadolin Extra Durable Wood Satin directly to the surface.

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.
