Owatrol Blocking Primer for Sensitive Surfaces

Owatrol Blocking Primer is a specialist primer designed to protect acid-sensitive surfaces and seal in tannins. Ideal for use over treatments like Rust Spirit, Copper Spirit, and Bronze Spirit, it creates a durable barrier that prevents acid reaction, tannin bleed, and softening of delicate plastics. Suitable for a range of substrates, it ensures a clean, stable base that preserves the integrity of your final finish.

• Surfaces must be in good sound condition, clean, dry and free of all grease, oil and other surface contamination.
• Meticulously clean surface using a suitable cleaning agent depending on the substrate and contamination.
• Allow to dry.
• Sand bare wood surfaces with 80-100 grit paper. Thoroughly dust off.
• Prime plastics (except Polyethylene and Polypropylene) with Absolute Primer.

• Use as is. Do not thin.
• Stir or shake well before use
• Apply a coat of Blocking Primer.

Ans: BLOCKING PRIMER is designed to maximize the effect of decorative finishes like RUST SPIRIT, COPPER SPIRIT, or BRONZE SPIRIT. It acts as an undercoat that protects acid-sensitive surfaces and ensures long-lasting performance.

Q: What surfaces can I apply BLOCKING PRIMER to?

Ans: It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use on tannic woods such as Oak and Chestnut, as well as on plastics that are sensitive to acids. A preliminary test is recommended for best results.

Q: How should I prepare the surface before applying BLOCKING PRIMER?

Ans: Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of grease, dust, or loose materials. For best adhesion, lightly sand glossy surfaces and remove any sanding dust before application.

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
