Crown Trade Covermatt Obliterating Emulsion is a high-opacity, water-based paint specially formulated for the first-time decoration of new build interior surfaces. Ideal for new plaster, it allows surfaces to dry out naturally without compromising the paint finish. Easy to apply with low spatter and quick drying properties, it delivers excellent coverage and a smooth matt finish. Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Crown Trade tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.

All surfaces must be sound, clean, suitably dry and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied.

• Porous surfaces should be coated with a ‘mist’ coat of Crown Trade Covermatt Obliterating Emulsion diluted with 40% clean water by volume. Where clean water is not available, apply one coat of Crown Trade Covermatt Drywall Primer.
• Any areas of surface filling after priming should be touched in with the priming or mist coat diluted as for main areas.
• Powdery surfaces should be primed with one coat of Sandtex Trade Water Based Stabilising Solution
• Polished or dense surfaces should be primed with Crown Trade PX3 Primer or where a water-based alternative is required Crown Trade PX4 Primer.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results

• Stir well before and during use.
• Apply two coats as required – synthetic brush or medium pile roller. Certain colours may require additional coats to give complete obliteration.
• For airless spray, dilution may be required. For further information follow the spray manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Always intermix packs for colour consistency. Please check for colour accuracy prior to application. Crown Paints or Next Day Paint is not liable for decorating costs caused as a result of an incorrect colour being applied

Please note: Crown Trade Covermatt Obliterating Emulsion is designed primarily as the first paint system on new work, so overcoating with Crown Trade Covermatt Obliterating Emulsion would only be suitable over itself.

This coating is for first time application and designed to be overcoated with a paint that will be more durable, if surface cleaning is necessary to remove dirt then care should be taken as the coating can be easily marked or damaged, anything more vigorous than gentle wiping with a damp detergent cloth could possibly result in burnishing or removal of the coating.

Store upright and secure. Store in secure dry conditions inaccessible to children or animals. Containers should be kept closed during storage. Do not store below 5ºC or above 40ºC.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
