Sandtex Trade Quick Dry Water Based Stabilising Solution - Clear - 5 Litre

A highly penetrative stabiliser for use on most exterior masonry surfaces and exterior grade building boards. This colourless solution is easy to apply and requires only one coat to prepare the masonry surface for painting. Sandtex Quick Dry Water Based Stabilising Solution will prime and bind loose, powdery, and porous surfaces to create a suitable foundation for the application of masonry paint. Suitable for application to most exterior masonry walls and surfaces including rendering, roughcast, pebbledash, brickwork, and exterior grade building boards. Now available in a 5L tin.

All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from anything that may interfere with adhesion before applying Sandtex Trade WB Quick Drying Stabilising Solution.

• Any faults in the surface must be repaired as these may lead to moisture penetration.
• Repair minor defects with Sandtex Ready Mixed Filler to leave a smooth surface.
• Remove all loose and flaking material by scraping or brushing with a stiff brush.
• All signs of organic growth must be removed by brushing with a stiff bristled brush. Kill spores with Sandtex fungicidal wash or a suitable fungicidal wash.
• Clean away any loose material after application and ensure the surface is dry.

We always recommend testing the product on the surface to ensure compatibility. Do not apply if there is a risk of rain or if the air/surface temperature is likely to fall below 8°C or when the relative humidity is above 80% during the application or drying period.

• Sandtex Stabilising Solution is ready to use and must not be thinned or mixed with decorative materials.

Q. Why use a Stabilising Solution?

A. If you have a surface that is porous, such as bare or weathered masonry, cement render, or pebbledash, the Stabilising Solution helps to stabilize and consolidate the surface. It penetrates into the substrate and binds loose or powdery materials together, preventing them from flaking or peeling. The Stabilising Solution creates a sound base for the paint or coating to adhere to. By reducing the absorbency of the surface, it allows for better adhesion of subsequent layers. This ensures that the paint adheres properly and lasts longer.

Q. How long does it take Sandtex Quick Dry Stabilising Solution to dry?

A. It only takes 1 hour for Sandtex Quick Dry Stabilising Solution to dry and 4 hours for the surface to be ready for a topcoat. Allowing you to complete your exterior projects in minimal time. By sealing the surface and providing a consistent texture, it helps the paint or coating to spread evenly and achieve a smooth and uniform appearance.

Q. Does the Sandtex Quick Dry Stabilising Solution come in a smaller size?

A. We also offer a Sandtex Retail Quick Dry Stabilising Solution in a 2.5 litre which will cover approximately 25m². All our products are available with same day despatch and next working day delivery.

Faulty Items
