Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Acrylic Eggshell is a high-performance, water-based paint designed for demanding interior environments. Offering 100% more stain resistance than standard matt vinyl emulsions, it provides a smooth, durable eggshell finish that’s ideal for high-traffic areas. Independently tested to ISO 11998 Class 1 with up to 10,000 scrub cycles, it withstands frequent cleaning without compromising the paint film’s integrity or appearance for a clean, long-lasting finish, in residential spaces as well as commercial environments.

Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Crown Trade tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.

All surfaces must be suitably dry, and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied.

New Walls and Ceilings Surfaces

• Porous surfaces should be coated with a ‘mist’ coat of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Acrylic Eggshell diluted with between minimum 20% and maximum 40% clean water by volume. Where clean water is not available, apply one coat of Crown Trade Covermatt Drywall Primer.
• Any areas of surface filling after priming should be touched in with the priming or mist coat diluted as for main areas.
• Powdery surfaces should be primed with one coat of Sandtex Trade Water Based Stabilising Solution.
• Polished or dense surfaces should be primed with Crown Trade PX3 Primer or where a water-based alternative is required Crown Trade PX4 Primer.

Previously Decorated Walls and Ceilings Surfaces

• Remove all loose, failing or suspect paint.
• Feather edges of sound paint.
• Organic growth must be treated with Sandtex Trade Fungicidal Solution and removed.
• Fill any fixing holes, cracks and shallow surface defects with Sandtex Ready Mixed Filler.
• Patch prime bare, filled and powdery areas as for new surfaces above.
• Wash remaining sound paint with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove any contaminants, frequently changing the water.
• Any glossy or eggshell surfaces should be wet abraded to provide a key. Rinse with clean water to remove all residues. Allow to dry.
• If after cleaning any areas are still contaminated with substances likely to cause staining and / or bleeding, patch prime with one coat of Crown Trade PX4 Primer

New Wood Surfaces

• Remove all dust.
• Timber with oils/extractives must be swabbed with clean methylated spirits, frequently changing the face of the cloths.
• Treat any knots with two coats of fresh knotting.
• Fill any fixing holes, open joints and shallow surface defects with Sandtex Ready Mixed Filler. Rub down with a suitable grade of abrasive paper. Remove all dust.
• At the end of preparation prime the surface with one coat of a suitable Primer Undercoat.

New metals

• Lightly abrade to a bright (not polished) surface – excluding galvanised surfaces.
• Prime the surface with one coat of a suitable metal primer, then bring forward with one coat of a suitable Primer Undercoat.

Galvanised Metal

• Bright galvanised surfaces should be pre-treated with Crown Trade Protective Coatings T Wash. Overall blackening of the surface will confirm satisfactory surface preparation.
• Then dry prime with one coat of a suitable metal primer.

Non-ferrous metals

• Prime bare metal with one coat of a suitable metal primer.

Ferrous Metals

• Remove all millscale and rust back to clean bright metal. Remove all residues.
• Prime within the working day with one coat of a suitable metal primer.

Previously Decorated Wood Surfaces

• Remove all loose, failing or suspect paint. Remove grey and denatured surfaces by rubbing down with abrasive paper.
• Feather edges of sound paint.
• Remove all dust.
• Organic growth must be treated with Sandtex Trade Fungicidal Solution and removed.
• Treat knots with two thin coats of fresh knotting.
• Fill any fixing holes, cracks and shallow surface defects with a suitable filler.
• Wash remaining sound paint with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove any contaminants, frequently changing the water.
• Wet abrade to provide a key.
• Rinse with clean water to remove all residues. Allow to dry.
• Spot prime bare areas with one coat of a suitable Primer Undercoat.

Previously Decorated Metal Surfaces

• Remove all corrosion or rust back to clean bright metal.
• Organic growth must be treated with Sandtex Trade Fungicidal Solution and removed.
• Spot prime areas with a suitable metal primer. Allow to dry.
• Wash remaining sound paint with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove any contaminants, frequently changing the water.
• Any glossy or eggshell surfaces must be wet abraded to provide a key.
• Rinse with clean water to remove all residues. Allow to dry.
• Bring forward spot primed areas and undercoat overall with a suitable Primer Undercoat.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results

• Stir well before and during use.
• Apply 2 coats using a good quality synthetic brush or a good quality synthetic brush or medium pile roller. For airless spray (dilution may be required). For further information follow the spray manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Always intermix packs for colour consistency. Please check for colour accuracy prior to application. Crown Paints or Next Day Paint is not liable for decorating costs caused as a result of an incorrect colour being applied.
• The product will take 1 week to become fully cured and scrubbable.

Note: Certain colours may require additional coats to give complete obliteration.

Between maintenance redecoration, surfaces may be washed with a warm water and liquid detergent solution to remove surface dirt.

Store in secure dry conditions between 5°C and 40°C and inaccessible to children or animals. Containers should be kept closed during storage.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
