Benjamin Moore Insl-X Stix Acrylic Bonding Primer Sealer - White

Benjamin Moore Insl-X Stix is a premium quality, acrylic-urethane bonding primer designed for outstanding adhesion, even to the most challenging surfaces. Ideal for both interior and exterior projects, it adheres to PVC, vinyl, plastics, glass, tile, and more. Insl-X Stix cures to an exceptionally hard film, even in temperatures as low as 1.5°C, providing a smooth base for almost any topcoat, including alkyds, acrylics, urethanes, epoxies, and lacquers.

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, sound and free of all dirt, grease, oils, waxes, mildew and any other surface contaminants that can cause paint failure.

• Dirt and chalk should be thoroughly removed by scrubbing with warm soapy water
• Surface wax should be removed with a commercial wax stripper.
• Grease residue should be removed with a grease and oil emulsifier.
• Remove all loose chipping, cracking and peeling from previously painted surfaces by hand scraping, sanding, wire brushing and/or by use of power tool cleaning methods such as electric sanders, grinders, etc.
• Remove any loose rust, mill scale, rust deposits from metal surfaces by hand or power tool cleaning according to SSPC Standards.
• Repair/replace any seriously damaged and/or delaminated surface areas.
• Surface areas affected by mildew should be thoroughly hand scrubbed with a soft to medium bristle scrub brush and a solution of 237 ml Tri-Sodium Phosphate or a non-ammoniated detergent cleaner mixed with one part household bleach* and three parts warm water per 3.79 L solution. Allow solution to stand on the affected surface areas for approximately 10 – 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow 24 – 48 hours to dry. *Follow bleach manufacturer’s instructions for safe handling and use of bleach solution.
• Glossy surfaces: Use over most glossy surfaces without sanding. Although Insl-X Stix is formulated to be applied to hard to coat surfaces without the need for sanding, it is recommended that proper surface preparation still be completed to enhance adhesion properties. Surfaces such as Formica®, ceramic tile and glossy painted surfaces should be properly de-glossed. Once applied, allow Insl-X Stix to cure for approximately 3 to 4 days to achieve maximum resistance to scrape off. However, Insl-X Stix may be top-coated with a quality latex or oil-based finish within 3 to 4 hours, depending on overall drying conditions.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure compatibility

• Stix may be applied by brush, roller, pad applicator, or airless spray. Use a high quality nylon brush or a 6.4 mm – 12.7 mm (¼” – ½”) synthetic nap roller cover.
• Stir thoroughly before use
• Apply one coat
• When top coating with two component paints, allow 24 hours dry time before painting
• For best results, use a Benjamin Moore Professional custom-blended nylon/polyester brush, Benjamin Moore Professional roller, or a similar product
• This product can also be sprayed. Airless Spray: Tip range between .013 and .017. Total fluid output pressure at the tip should not be less than 2200 PSI. Preferred pressure is 2500 PSI.

Note: Do not thin. Do not apply when surface, air, or product temperature is below 1.7 °C (35 °F). Do not paint in direct sun or on a hot surface. If possible, plan your painting to avoid rain, moisture, or high humidity for the first 24 hours of curing. Stop application a minimum of two hours before rain or dew is expected. Do not paint if surface temperature is within 5 degrees of the dew point.

All orders placed on a working day before 3pm will be dispatched on the same day for next working day delivery. Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £3.99 for express delivery. We strongly suggest customers avoid booking tradespeople until they receive their order. Next Day Paint will not be held liable for any costs incurred due to order processing errors, delivery delays, or other issues that may result in financial loss.

• AM Delivery: Get your order by 2pm
  If placed on a working day before 3pm, the AM Delivery will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday AM (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day for delivery on the following AM. All orders have a charge of £12.99 for AM delivery.

• Late Cut-Off: Get an extra hour to place your order for Next Working Day delivery.
  Orders placed on a working day before 4pm will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 4pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £5.99 for Late Cut-Off delivery.

• Saturday Delivery: Get your order on Saturday
  Option available on Fridays. Orders placed on Friday before 3pm will be delivered on Saturday. All orders have a charge of £9.95 for Saturday delivery.

We do not deliver to the Channel Islands or the Republic of Ireland

Returns

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

We always recommend getting samples or contacting us for free of charge colourcharts. We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

Faulty Items

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you. Please get in touch to discuss these options. If you find fault after 30 days of purchase you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly as they will be able to offer support with the product.
