Overview

Ronseal Ultimate Protection Decking oil is a water based oil that nourishes and offers long lasting protection for you decking. Formulated for use on smooth and grooved, softwood and hardwood decking, it adds colour whilst allowing you to still see the natural beauty of the wood. It gives excellent protection against weathering, scuffs and knocks and will be rainproof in as little as 90 minutes after application.

Preparation

Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, algae, fungi or moss.


• To clean decking give it a good brush with a stiff broom to remove any dirt, debris or loose wood

• Check the surface of the decking for loose screws or boards and ensure these are tightened

• If the decking has been previously stained, painted or varnished, we recommend you strip it back to the bare wood. For previously stained decking use a Ronseal Decking Stripper

• If your deck has been previously oiled, don't try to cover a dark oil with a lighter colour. You'll need to strip it first using Ronseal Decking Stripper

• Prior to application Ronseal Decking Restorer to take the deck back to its natural colour. This also helps the oil to soak in, so your deck will look great for longer

• If your decking has been effected by algae, fungi or clean with Ronseal Decking Cleaner and Reviver


New decking

• Most new decks come with a bit of waterproofing protection. This could stop the oil from sticking. To avoid this, give your new deck a good scrub with a Ronseal Decking Cleaner & Reviver. Alternatively, leave it to weather for six months.


Application

Before applying shake the product thoroughly and test a small area to ensure colour and adhesion. Colours can vary dependant on surface to be treated.


• Shake can continuously for a couple minutes

• Pour oil into a suitable container

• Starting in the furthest corner, brush the oil along the length of the boards. Working on 34 boards at a time

• Allow to dry for 4 hours

• Apply a second coat

• Leave to dry 24 hours before use


Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.


Aftercare & Storage

Regularly cleaning your decking will not only keep it looking good, but it’ll keep it in a good condition too. Use a stiff brush to remove dirt, grime, dust, algae, mildew and anything else that ruins the aesthetics of your deck.

Repairing your deck is really easy and doesn’t take much effort. Just sand down the damaged area and apply a coat of the oil and your decking will be good as new.

Delivery

We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you. If you find fault after 30 days of purchase you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly as they will be able to offer support with the product.
