Osmo Decking Oil is an oil-based, clear satin finish ideal for exterior wood. The microporous properties allow the wood to breathe, reducing swelling and shrinkage. It’s formulated to be extremely weatherproof, water repellent, and UV stable to keep your decking and exterior wood protected and looking good.

Note: 007 – Teak Oil only offers little protection against UV radiation and although it protects from moisture, cracking, splitting, and warping it does not stop your wood from greying or turning silver over time. We would recommend using Osmo Anti Slip Decking Oil

Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry, and free from any dust, algae, fungi or moss.

• Allow new wood to weather, this can usually take up to 4 weeks, we recommend checking with the manufacturer for advice

• To clean decking give it a good brush with a stiff broom to remove any dirt, debris or loose wood

• Check the surface of the decking for loose screws or boards and ensure these are tightened

• If the decking has been previously stained, painted or varnished, we recommend you strip it back to the bare wood. For previously stained decking use a suitable stain stripper

• Sand old surfaces to remove any stains

• If your decking has been affected by algae, fungi or clean with a decking cleaner

• It’s advisable to use awood treatment to pre-treat the wood to protect against blue stain rot and insect attack


Before applying stir the product thoroughly and test a small area to ensure colour and adhesion. Colours can vary dependant on surface to be treated.

• Use a stiff brush, such as the Osmo Flat Brush or a lint free cloth

• Apply the product thinly and evenly to the surface working in the direction of the grain

• If possible apply to all sides and ends of the decking before installation

• Allow to dry for 10-12 hours and apply a second coat, thinly

• Allow another 12 hours to completely dry

Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.

Aftercare & Storage


Maintain your decking by regular cleaning to remove debris and build up of algae and moss. Cleaning with Osmo Decking Cleaner will keep your deck looking good for longer.

If intensive cleaning is necessary use Osmo Reviver Gel or Osmo Gard Clean for a deep clean.


Simply re-apply one coat onto the clean and dry surface when signs of wear become visible.

Using power washers will severely decrease the coverage of the finish and general or multi-purpose cleaners will increase the frequency of maintenance and recoating.

We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you. Please contact us to discuss these options. If you find fault after 30 days of purchase you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly as they will be able to offer support with the product.
