Suitable substrates include new or previously painted plaster, drywall, fillers, prefabricated boards, primed wallpaper, brick and gypsum.

Ensure the substrate is firmly adhered, clean, dry and free from dust and other contaminants. Apply only when the ambient temperature is between +7°C and +35°C, and the relative humidity is below 80%.

• Open up any cracks and repair them using a suitable, compatible filler.
• Lightly sand any glossy or shiny surfaces and apply primer where necessary.

Plaster:

Clean the surface and lightly sand if required.

Plasterboard or filled areas:

Spot prime and/or apply a mist coat of Naturcolor or BaseCoat before painting.

Absorbent surfaces:

Apply one coat of Ambient Primer.

Wood, metal or non-porous surfaces:

Apply Four2Four Multi-Surface Primer.

Note: If the substrate presents any particular challenges, site trials may be required to test and confirm suitability. Refer to the Graphenstone Application Manual or contact the Technical Department for further guidance.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results.

• Shake the product thoroughly and dilute with 10–15% water. Stir well before application, avoiding excessive shaking to minimise the formation of air bubbles.
• Apply 2–3 even coats, maintaining a consistent ‘wet edge’ to prevent lap marks. Cut in and roll one wall at a time, using the same dilution rate throughout. Roll as close to the edges as possible to minimise picture framing.
• Avoid applying the paint too thickly, as this can extend curing times and may cause micro-cracking. The natural mineral formulation benefits from thorough rolling and working out to help achieve a rich, smooth and even finish.
• Allow 2–4 hours between coats and approximately 24 hours for full drying. Drying times may vary depending on temperature and humidity.
• Protect the painted surface from rain, condensation and water for 4–5 days to allow the paint to initially cure, including in kitchens, bathrooms and shower areas. Full curing takes approximately 30 days, after which the paint achieves Class 1 durability. Avoid rubbing or cleaning the surface during this curing period.
• Airless spray application: Recommended tips: 315-317 - pressure: 1800-2000 psi - thinning: 15%

Always follow manufacturer's instructions found on the packaging

Note: If using more than one tin of the same colour, intermix prior to use to ensure colour consistency. Check tinted product before application to avoid colour differences.

Store in the original container, tightly sealed, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Protect from freezing and temperatures below 5°C (41°F) or above 35°C (95°F).

When unopened, the product has a storage life of 36 months from the date of manufacture. The product may thicken during storage without affecting its performance. Shake thoroughly before use.

Q: What is Graphenstone GCS Interior?

Ans: Graphenstone GCS Interior is a premium-grade internal wall and ceiling paint made from natural minerals. It dries to a completely flat matt appearance and offers an ultra-breathable, traditional mineral finish.

Q: Is Graphenstone GCS Interior a delicate paint, or can it be wiped clean?

Ans: Despite its natural mineral composition, it is highly practical for daily life. It achieves a Class 1 wet scrub resistance rating, making it durable enough to be gently wiped down when walls get marked.

Q: What if I need to use more than one tin of the same colour of Graphenstone GCS Interior?

Ans: Because this paint relies on natural mineral bases, minor variations can happen between different production batches. You should mix all your tins together in a large container before you begin to guarantee perfect consistency.

Q: Can I paint this directly onto fresh plaster or plasterboard?

Ans: For bare plasterboard or areas patched with wall filler, you should spot-prime or apply a mist coat beforehand. If your background is a highly porous or absorbent mineral surface, apply one coat of Graphenstone Ambient Primer first. If you are applying it over new lime or cement-based plaster, the substrate must be at least 28 days old.

Q: What should I use if I am painting wood or metal trim instead of walls?

Ans: GCS Interior is meant for mineral walls and ceilings. If you have tricky or non-porous surfaces like wood, metal, MDF, or glossy plastics in the room, switch to Graphenstone Four2Four Multi-surface Primer to build a strong bonding bridge first.
