Farrow & Ball Exterior Masonry is a water-based paint offering a super matt finish for exterior walls. Combining water resistance and breathability, Exterior Masonry delivers a durable, very flat matt finish with a long-lasting colour that resists flaking and peeling for up to 15 years*. The flexible finish is suitable for exterior brick, render and concrete walls. Thanks to its water-based formula, Exterior Masonry is quick-drying, low-odour, low VOC and toy safe, a better choice for you and the planet.

Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Farrow & Ball tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.

Clean Up	Remove as much product as possible from the equipment before cleaning with water

Ensure all surfaces are sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, grease and other contamination.

New Modern Construction Surfaces:

• Before coating any newly rendered surfaces with any paint system, the render must be permitted to dry out completely and ideally left to weather for approximately 3 months.
• Once completely dry, brush the surface with a stiff bristled brush to remove any surface dust.
• Prime any areas that remain powdery with a 10% diluted coat of Farrow & Ball Exterior Masonry.

Preparing Concrete Surfaces for Painting:

• Leave new concrete uncoated for at least 3 months before painting.
• Repair and fill any old or unsound concrete surfaces, allowing adequate time for the filler used to cure.
• Once completely dry, brush the surface with a stiff bristled brush to remove any surface dust.
• Prime any areas that remain powdery with Farrow & Ball Masonry & Plaster Stabilising Primer.

Painting Old Exterior Render with Exterior Masonry:

• Please be aware that unsound surfaces may not successfully accept any additional paint layers - therefore if in doubt we recommend you seek professional advice.
• Surfaces with serious structural damage, such as cracking or loose cement, must be repaired before any paint is applied.
• Patch prime any repaired or seriously degraded areas with one coat of Farrow & Ball Masonry & Plaster Stabilising Primer.
• Fungal or algal contaminated surfaces should be decontaminated with a fungicidal wash then left to dry out completely.

Painting Interior Brickwork:

• Farrow & Ball Exterior Masonry may be used on interior brickwork - with the exception of Fletton bricks - but we recommend taking a few extra precautions before and during application.
• Make sure all dirt, mould, salts and other visible contaminants are removed with a stiff bristle or synthetic brush or specialist cleaner, ensuring the brickwork is fully dry before applying any coatings.
• We also recommend checking that all mortar is fully cured before painting.
• Extra care should be taken when painting solid brick walls, and any walls that aren’t damp-proofed, as loss of adhesion may occur and salts may appear.
• We do not recommend the use of Farrow & Ball Masonry & Plaster Stabilising Primer, as this is not intended as a general primer for sound brick surfaces.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results

• Stir thoroughly before use.
• Ensure all surfaces are sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, grease and other contamination.
• Once the appropriate surface preparation has been completed, apply two coats of Farrow & Ball Exterior Masonry by brush or roller, taking care not to apply too thickly in any hollows and angled sections.
• Allow the recommended drying times between coats.
• For newly cement rendered surfaces, although Farrow & Ball Exterior Masonry is supplied ready for use, water may be added (at a 10% ratio) to assist application on sound bare surfaces.

Do not use Farrow & Ball Masonry & Plaster Stabilising Primer as a general primer on sound masonry surfaces.

We do not recommend HVLP spray application for large areas such as walls.

For the very best results, Farrow & Ball always recommend using a Farrow & Ball Primer & Undercoat.

Recommended Primer & Undercoats:

Protect from frost and extreme temperatures.

It is recommended to use this product within 6 months of purchase therefore, we are unable to accept responsibility for the deterioration of contents or packaging after this date.

Wipe gently with a soft damp cloth or sponge. Some cleaning solutions may mark the surface. Test on an inconspicuous area before use. Do not use bleach-based cleaning products. Allow at least 14 days before cleaning to allow the paint film to fully cure.

  If placed on a working day before 3pm, the AM Delivery will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday AM (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day for delivery on the following AM. All orders have a charge of £12.99 for AM delivery.

• Late Cut-Off: Get an extra hour to place your order for Next Working Day delivery.
  Orders placed on a working day before 4pm will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 4pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £5.99 for Late Cut-Off delivery.

• Saturday Delivery: Get your order on Saturday

Returns

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

We always recommend getting samples or contacting us for free of charge colourcharts. We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

Faulty Items

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you. Please get in touch to discuss these options. If you find fault after 30 days of purchase you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly as they will be able to offer support with the product.
