Dulux Trade Weathershield Smooth Masonry Gloss dries quickly to a brilliant, high gloss sheen that naturally resists dirt build-up, so your paintwork stays looking fresh for longer. An added fungicide keeps mould from taking hold on the paint film, while the water-based formula makes application and clean-up straightforward.

Versatile enough to go over existing masonry paint, including solvent-based finishes, it's especially well suited to the UK's unpredictable climate, shower resistant in just 30 minutes, so a sudden downpour won't undo a morning's work.

To get the best results, ensure surfaces are sound, clean and dry, new surfaces particularly must be fully dry before application.

Cleaning

Wash down previously painted surfaces with a detergent solution to remove all dirt, grease and chalking paint. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry.

Repairs & keying

Scrape back all areas of poorly adhering or defective coatings to a firm edge, then rub down to key and feather the broken edges of existing coatings. Make good minor defects with an appropriate Polycell filler. Use a sand and cement mix for larger holes and cracks. Allow to dry fully before painting.

Biological growth

Treat any areas affected by mould, lichens, algae or moss with Weathershield Multi-Surface Fungicidal Wash before proceeding.

Priming & sealing

• New or sound bare surfaces - seal with a thinned first coat of Weathershield Masonry Gloss (add up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint).
• Powdery, friable or chalky surfaces - seal with a coat of Weathershield Stabilising Primer after thorough preparation.

Note: do not apply stabilising primer to sound new or bare surfaces.

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.

• Stir thoroughly before use. Seal new or bare surfaces with a thinned first coat of Weathershield All Seasons Smooth Masonry, up to 1 part white spirit to 10 parts paint.
• Apply with a brush or roller only. Do not spray.
• Generally, 2 full coats of Weathershield All Seasons Smooth Masonry are required, but on previously painted surfaces in good condition, where similar colours are used, 1 coat may be enough.
• Dulux Trade All Seasons Gloss has been formulated to allow it to be applied in lower temperatures than normal exterior masonry paints, however, it is not to be used in extremes of temperature (below 5ºC) or during rain, fog or relative humidity above 80%.

Please Note: Coverage on textured surfaces of low porosity, such as pebble dash will have a reduced coverage of 4-6m2 per litre
