Dulux Trade Ultra Grip Primer is a two pack primer - Base and Activator. Both parts need to be purchased separately and mixed together for it to work effectively. It is specifically formulated for particularly difficult surfaces, to provide excellent adhesion for paint. Ideal for glazed ceramic wall tiles, laminates, glass, anodised aluminium, powder-coated steel and stove enamel surfaces. For interior and exterior use and compatible with Dulux Trade paint systems. Pot life up to 6 hours at 20 degrees celsius.

Preparation

It is advisable to test a small area first to ensure that the product is compatible with the surface

For best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry) and free from all loose or powdery material using a stiff fibre brush. Where necessary, thoroughly degrease, followed by rinsing with fresh, clean water.

Thoroughly rub down previously painted surfaces, using ‘wet flatting’ methods where possible, then wipe off with a damp, lint free cloth. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead. Spot prime bare metal and metal fixings with 1 coat of Dulux Trade Zinc Phosphate Primer

Application

Note: always follow the manufacturers instructions found on the tin

Stir thoroughly before use and apply with a brush or short pile roller only. Do not spray

Mixing Ratio: the Ultra Grip Activator and Base have been supplied in the correct proportions - 0.8L base and 0.2L Activator = 1L total.

Add all of the Activator to the Base container and mix thoroughly for at least 5 minutes, until the product is smooth and even. Do not mix part units. Badly activated or incorrectly mixed materials will affect performance and may cause early failure or discolouration.

Thinning: When thoroughly mixed for at least five minutes, the product will be ready to use and thinning should not be necessary. If required, add a maximum of 10% clean water to activated primer.

Pot life: up to 6 hours at 20°C.

Aftercare & Storage

Store upright with the lid firmly closed, away from extremes of temperature and frost.
