Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat is a high-performance, water-based primer designed for interior and exterior joinery and metalwork. It provides excellent coverage and fast drying, making it the perfect basecoat for use with Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Gloss and Satin, ensuring a smooth, professional finish. New Surfaces

• Timber & MDF: Treat knots with two coats of knotting. Fill holes and defects with Sandtex Trade Ready Mixed Filler, rub down with abrasive paper, remove dust, and ensure surfaces are dry and clean. Prime with one coat of Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

• Metals: Clean and abrade to a bright surface (excluding galvanised). Wash with hot water and detergent to remove contaminants, rinse, and dry.

• Galvanised Metals: Pre-treat with Crown Trade Protective Coatings T Wash. Prime with Crown Trade High Build Rust Inhibiting Primer or Water-Based Metal Primer, then undercoat with Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

• Non-ferrous Metals: Prime with Crown Trade High Build Rust Inhibiting Primer or Water-Based Metal Primer, then undercoat with Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

• Ferrous Metals: Remove rust, clean to bright metal, and prime within the working day with Crown Trade High Build Rust Inhibiting Primer or Water-Based Metal Primer. Undercoat with Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

Previously Decorated Surfaces

• Timber: Remove loose or flaking paint. Treat knots with knotting, fill holes with Sandtex Trade Ready Mixed Filler, rub down with abrasive paper, remove dust, and prime bare areas with Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

• Metals: Remove corrosion and rust, clean and prime bare metal with Crown Trade High Build Rust Inhibiting Primer or Water-Based Metal Primer.

• Timber & Metals: Remove loose paint, wash with hot water and detergent to remove contaminants, wet abrade glossy surfaces, rinse, and allow to dry. Spot prime and undercoat with Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

Stir well before use. Apply by brush (a good quality synthetic brush gives best results) or roller (good quality micro fibre medium pile roller will give best results) to achieve an even thickness. To assist application on porous substrates the surface may be dampened slightly. Maintain a wet edge. On timber lay off in the direction of the grain. Avoid excessive de-nibbing in- between coats. For airless spray (dilution may be required. For further information follow the spray manufacturer’s guidelines. Always intermix packs for colour consistency. Please check for colour accuracy prior to application. Crown Paints is not liable for decorating costs caused as a result of an incorrect colour being applied.

Delivery - All orders placed on a working day before 3pm will be dispatched on the same day for next working day delivery. However, due to their bespoke nature, please allow up to an additional 5 working days to accommodate any potential courier delays or delivery issues before receiving a refund or replacement.

We strongly suggest customers avoid booking tradespeople until they receive their order. Next Day Paint will not be held liable for any costs incurred due to order processing errors, delivery delays, or other issues that may result in financial loss.

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

If we have sent you a different item from what you ordered, we will be happy to organise an exchange for the correct goods at no extra charge to yourself, please get in touch to organise this.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
