Caparol CapaTrend is an all-rounder water-based flat matt emulsion paint formulated to deliver a smooth, professional-looking finish on interior walls and ceilings. With excellent coverage and hiding power, it works equally well for new projects or renovation work and adheres reliably to all standard interior substrates.

Its environmentally conscious, low odour formulation is water-dilutable, free from solvents and plasticizers, for both safe and comfortable application. Fast drying and easy to use and with long open time, CapaTrend is a great versatile choice for a wide range of projects.

Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Caparol tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.

Clean Up	Remove as much product as possible from the equipment before cleaning with water

All substrates must be clean, dry, sound, and free of dust, oil, grease or other contaminants before coating. Prepare as follows:

Renders (DIN EN 998-1 CS II – CS IV, ≥ 2 N/mm²)

• Solid, normally absorbent: coat directly.
• Slightly sanding/absorbent: prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund, CapaSol RapidGrund or Sylitol RapidGrund 111.
• Strongly sanding: prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund.

Gypsum Plasters & Boards

• Sand sintered surfaces, remove dust, prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund, CapaSol RapidGrund or Sylitol RapidGrund 111.
• Plasterboard: sand filler burrs, prime filler areas/boards as above. Use Caparol AquaSperrgrund for discolouring substrates.

Concrete

• Remove release agents and chalking. Prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund, CapaSol RapidGrund or Sylitol RapidGrund 111.

Sand-Lime Masonry

• Brush off salt efflorescence. Prime with CapaSol RapidGrund or Sylitol RapidGrund 111; for higher absorption use OptiSilan TiefGrund.

Existing Coatings

• Load-bearing: Recoat matt, roughen glossy surfaces.
• Non-bearing: Remove fully, prime porous or sanding substrates with OptiSilan TiefGrund.

Distemper (Lime Paint)

• Wash off or remove mechanically, then prime with Dupa-Putzfestiger or OptiSilan TiefGrund.

Wallpapers

• Woodchip/embossed: usually coat directly (trial coat recommended).
• After wallpaper removal: wash off paste residues, prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund.

Mould-Infested Surfaces

• Remove mould with Capatox, allow to dry. For extra protection, use Malerit-W, Indeko-W or Fungitex-W.

Stained Surfaces (Nicotine, Water, Soot, Grease)

• Clean thoroughly, allow to dry, then prime with Caparol AquaSperrgrund Fein or Filtergrund grob.

Wood & Wood-Based Materials

• Prime with Capacryl Holz-IsoGrund or Capacryl Haftprimer (for melamine boards). Panel joints not crack-free; use gypsum boards for a higher finish quality.

Other Substrates

• Old lime filler: Sand off sintered layer, test with water. If adhesion poor, remove fully; otherwise, prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund.
• Chips, joints & defects: Fill with Füllspachtel P.
• Thin gypsum fillings (Q2/Q3): Use transparent water-based primer or pasty filling compounds.

Note: Always perform trial applications on critical substrates. Follow relevant BFS data sheets and Caparol technical guidance.

Apply with a brush, roller, or airless spraying equipment. Always stir thoroughly before use.

Airless Application

• Dilution: Max. 5% with clean tap water
• Spray Pressure: 150 – 180 bar
• Spray Angle: 40° – 50°
• Nozzle Size: 0.019" – 0.021"
• Pistol Filter: approx. 0.31 mm (MW)

Note: If using more than one can of the same colour, intermix prior to use to ensure colour consistency. Check tinted product prior to application to avoid colour differences.

Internally Fed Roller Systems

• Spray Pressure: 80 – 120 bar
• Pistol Filter: approx. 0.31 mm (MW)

Surface Coating System

• Apply one even, generous coat of CapaTrend, diluted up to 5% with potable water.
• For high colour contrast surfaces: apply a priming coat of CapaTrend, diluted up to 10% with water.
• On unevenly absorbent substrates: use Caparol HaftGrund EG as a primer.

Note: If using more than one can of the same colour, intermix prior to use to ensure colour consistency. Check tinted product prior to application to avoid colour differences.

Delivery - All orders placed on a working day before 3pm will be dispatched on the same day for next working day delivery. However, due to their bespoke nature, please allow up to an additional 5 working days to accommodate any potential courier delays or delivery issues before receiving a refund or replacement.

We strongly suggest customers avoid booking tradespeople until they receive their order. Next Day Paint will not be held liable for any costs incurred due to order processing errors, delivery delays, or other issues that may result in financial loss.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
