Armstead Trade Quick Dry Wood Primer Undercoat is a professional-quality, water-based primer designed to provide excellent adhesion and coverage. Fast-drying and easy to apply, it combines the benefits of both a primer and an undercoat, saving time and effort. Suitable for use on both interior and exterior wood surfaces, it ensures a smooth, durable base for topcoats and enhances the finish of your paintwork.

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from defective or poorly adhering material, dirt, grease, wax, and other contaminants.

• Thoroughly rub down using wet flatting methods where possible, then wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth.
• Treat any knots with a suitable knotting solution such as Ronseal's Knotting Pale.
• Fill any surface defects with an appropriate filler and allow to dry.
• Take special precautions when preparing pre-1990s paint surfaces on wood and metal, as they may contain harmful lead.

Always follow the manufacturers instructions found on the tin, it is recommended that a small test area is applied before painting the entire surface to ensure compatibility.

• Stir the paint thoroughly before use to ensure a consistent finish.
• New or bare surfaces: Apply 2 coats of Armstead Trade Quick Dry Wood Primer Undercoat.
• Previously painted surfaces: Apply 1 coat of Armstead Trade Quick Dry Wood Primer Undercoat.
• Allow a minimum of 2 hours between coats before applying the topcoat with an appropriate Armstead Trade paint system.
• Sealing new/bare surfaces: Add up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint.
• Normal use: Add up to 1 part clean water to 10 parts paint.
• Airless spray application: Add up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint.
• Airless Spray Settings: Recommended minimum working pressure: 140 kg/cm² (2000 lb/in²) Spray tip size: 0.43 mm (17 thou) Spray tip angle: 60°

Q. Do I need to apply a separate undercoat when using Armstead Trade Quick Dry Wood Primer Undercoat?

A. No! Armstead Trade Quick Dry Wood Primer Undercoat is designed to act as both a primer and an undercoat, saving time and effort. For new or bare wood, apply 1–2 coats before finishing with your chosen topcoat. For previously painted surfaces, 1 coat is usually sufficient. Always allow the recommended drying time between coats for best results.

Delivery - All orders placed on a working day before 3pm will be dispatched on the same day for next working day delivery. Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed after 3pm on Friday, weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day.

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
