Annie Sloan Metallic Paint - 118ml - Traditional Gold

Annie Sloan Metallic Paint is a water-based decorative paint that brings warm, lustrous radiance to furniture and walls, currently available in Traditional Gold, a muted, antique shade inspired by some of the world's most iconic interiors. Warm and considered rather than brash or bright, it's a gold that works beautifully with your interiors rather than competing with them.

Apply one thin coat for a translucent shimmer that lets the surface beneath show through, or build to two coats for a fully opaque, lustrous finish. Two simple steps, two completely different results, both beautiful. Built-in protection means no Wax or Lacquer is needed in most cases, and each 118ml tin covers approximately 0.9 square metres, perfect for accent work, mouldings, furniture details and statement pieces. Stir well before use to ensure the metallic particles are fully dispersed. Always perform a patch test on several areas before beginning your project. Ensure the surface is completely dry and dust-free before applying. If applying over Chalk Paint™, ensure it is fully dry before proceeding.

• Apply using an Annie Sloan Flat Brush or Small Sponge Roller for the best, most even results.
• For a translucent shimmer, apply one thin, even coat and allow to dry fully.
• For a lustrous opaque finish, apply a second coat, allow 3 to 4 hours for the first coat to fully dry before recoating.
• No Chalk Paint™ Wax or Lacquer is required to seal, Metallic Paint has built-in protection.
• For high-traffic areas or if the paint shows signs of wear over time, reapply and finish with a coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ Lacquer for added durability.

To maintain the finish, wipe clean with a damp cloth using mild detergent, avoid harsh chemicals Reapply as and when necessary to refresh the metallic finish.

Q. Do I need to seal Annie Sloan Metallic Paint with Wax or Lacquer?

A. In most cases, no. Like Annie Sloan Satin Paint, Metallic Paint has built-in protective qualities that mean a finishing coat of Chalk Paint™ Wax or Lacquer is not required. However, if you are using Metallic Paint on a particularly high-traffic surface, a tabletop or frequently handled area, for example, or you notice the finish beginning to wear over time, we recommend reapplying and finishing with a coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ Lacquer for added durability and protection.

Q. Can I use Annie Sloan Metallic Paint over Chalk Paint™, and how many coats do I need?

A. Yes, Metallic Paint can be applied directly over fully dry Chalk Paint™, making it a brilliant way to add gilded accents, highlights or an all-over metallic finish to a painted piece. The number of coats depends entirely on the effect you're after. One thin coat gives a beautiful translucent shimmer, allowing the colour beneath to show through for a subtle, layered look. Two coats build to a fully opaque, lustrous finish that stands on its own. If applying a second coat, allow 3 to 4 hours for the first coat to dry completely before recoating.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
