A groundbreaking and innovative 4-in-1 primer, Zinsser B-I-N Aqua offers the same superior performance of the B-I-N range but with a water-based formula that is better for the environment and your decorating tools! This primer and sealer can be used on the majority of interior and exterior surfaces with super fast drying times, excellent adhesion and durability. The high hiding formulation seals knots and sap as well as covering stains from smoke, fire, grease, oil and crayon.

When applying paint, preparation is always key, ensure the surface is clean, dry, sound, and free from any contaminates that will affect adhesion.

• Always ensure to remove any excessive materials such as chalk, grease, grime, oil, wax, mildew, adhesive, or anything that may interfere with adhesion. If unsure wash the surface well with an appropriate cleaning solution or solvent and rinse thoroughly.
• Always ensure to remove any loose or peeling material and sand any paint film edges smooth.
• For areas that have been stained with nicotine, smoke, and household stains ensure to remove as much of the stain as possible before applying Zinsser B-I-N Aqua this can be done by washing, sanding, scraping, and allowing it to completely dry.

For the best results always ensure the surface is fully prepared, we always recommend testing a small area to ensure you are happy with the finished results.

• To ensure consistency ensure the product is well stirred prior to use.
• Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 10°C and 32°C with a relative humidity of less than 85%.
• To apply use a high-quality brush or 3/8" nap roller and do not thin with more than 8% water.
• When using an airless sprayer use a 0.15–0.17” tip at 1700-2200 psi / 120-150 bar, do not thin with more than 8% water.
• In most instances one coat will be required to prime most surfaces, however, more coats can be applied.
• The surface will be touch dry in 25 minutes and ready to recoat or apply a topcoat in only 45 minutes.
• Zinsser B-I-N Aqua can be top-coated with any type of paint including water-based, latex, and oil-based options.
• As with most paints it will take 7 days to fully cure.

We always recommend following the manufacturer's instructions for best results.

Clean up spills and paint drips with warm soap and water. Wipe up splatters before they dry.

Zinsser B-I-N Aqua can be kept for a minimum of 2 years from the date of production in unopened cans if stored in dry, well-ventilated areas, not in direct sunlight at temperatures between 5 and 32°C. Once opened ensure to seal the paint to stop air from drying out the paint.

Q. Can Zinsser Aqua B-I-N be used for more than spot priming on exterior surfaces?

A. Yes, the new formula contains highly durable and robust resins which means, unlike the original B-I-N you can use this to fully cover exterior surfaces. This includes everything from your front door, railings, garden furniture, and window frames to plastisol cladding and drainage pipes. The water-based, fast-drying formula makes it super easy to apply as it will leave you with a ready-to-paint surface in as little as 45 minutes meaning your painting projects can be done in one day. The very versatile formula means one tin can cover a range of projects also reducing the need for storing and purchasing multiple projects.

Q. Can you apply any paint directly over Zinsser Aqua B-I-N?

A. Yes, you can apply any water-based, oil or latex-based paints over the top of Zinsser Aqua B-I-N, this includes emulsions, eggshells, and glosses! The 4-in-1 formulation can be applied to a range of interior and exterior surfaces and will block stains including knots, sap, smoke & fire damage, mould, grease and so much more to leave you with a ready-to-paint surface.
