Tikkurila Finngard Silicone Protect is a water-based acrylic masonry paint with a matt finish, designed for mineral exterior walls and facades.

Featuring advanced hydrophobic technology, it helps repel moisture while remaining highly vapour permeable, allowing surfaces to breathe and moisture to be drained from the wall. Ideal for new and previously painted roughcast, pebbledash, concrete, cement and lime-rendered surfaces, it delivers a durable matt finish with excellent exterior protection. Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Tikkurila tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order. Note: Depending on the amount of colourant required to mix your chosen colour, there may be up to a 10% variant on the advertised paint volume.

Ensure the substrate is sound, dry and clean before application.

Unpainted surfaces:

• New cement-lime, cement and concrete surfaces should be seasoned for a minimum of 4 weeks before painting.
• Remove loose material, dirt, grease and salt deposits.
• Permanently remove algae, lichens and fungi and wash the facade with high-pressure water.
• Repair cracks and uneven areas with a mortar similar to the original substrate.
• Prime the surface with Tikkurila Finngard Uni Primer. Tikkurila Finngard Silicone Protect can be applied a minimum of 16 hours after priming.

Previously painted surfaces:

• Remove all loose and flaking paint, dirt, grease and salt deposits.
• Wash the facade with high-pressure water and permanently remove algae, lichens and fungi.
• Remove chalking surfaces, for example by blasting.
• Repair cracks and uneven areas with a mortar similar to the original substrate.
• Prime with Tikkurila Finngard Uni Primer.Tikkurila Finngard Silicone Protect can be applied a minimum of 16 hours after priming.

Before renovating old coatings: Carry out a test application to assess adhesion and compatibility of the new coating, for example using a cross-cut adhesion test. A satisfactory result confirms suitability for use.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results.

Tikkurila Finngard Silicone Protect should be applied as a primer and topcoat paint system.

• Stir thoroughly before use and, if necessary, thin the paint by a maximum of 5%.
• First, prime with Finngard Uni Primer.
• Apply Tikkurila Finngard Silicone Protect no sooner than 16 hours after priming and no later than 48 hours after priming.

Apply 2 coats of Finngard Silicone Protect by brush, roller or sprayer. Leave at least 12 hours between coats.

• Apply when air and substrate temperatures are between +5°C and +25°C. Avoid application in direct sunlight, during rain or frost, and when relative humidity exceeds 80%. The moisture content of the substrate should not exceed 4%.

For colour consistency, paint from different batches should be mixed before use.

Note:

• Protect freshly painted surfaces from rain for a minimum of 48 hours. Drying times may be extended in conditions of low temperature or high humidity.
• Surface suitability: Do not apply to lime coatings or distemper paints. Do not apply to horizontal surfaces exposed directly to weather conditions such as rain or snow.

Always follow manufacturer's instructions found on the packaging

Note: If using more than one tin of the same colour, intermix prior to use to ensure colour consistency. Check tinted product before application to avoid colour differences.

Protect from frost. Store and transport in tightly closed containers at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
