Tikkurila Finngard Opaque is a high-performance acrylic masonry paint designed to protect and enhance exterior surfaces.

This water-based elastomeric coating delivers outstanding weather resistance, anti-carbonation protection and long-lasting flexibility to help prevent cracking. Suitable for roughcast, pebbledash, concrete, cement render, masonry boards, on new and previously painted surfaces, it provides a durable, low-maintenance finish resistant to chemical and biological erosion.

Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Tikkurila tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order. Note: Depending on the amount of colourant required to mix your chosen colour, there may be up to a 10% variant on the advertised paint volume.

Clean Up	Remove as much product as possible from the equipment before cleaning with water

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease, dirt, salts, loose material and surface contamination.

• If needed, use recommended Tikkurila products for mould removal and cleaning. Ensure that all surfaces to be painted are properly bonded to the substrate.
• Repair all failed areas, cracks and holes with a suitable Tikkurila repair mortar or cement mortar. Use only recommended concrete repair products when repairing concrete surfaces.
• Polished or glassy concrete surfaces should be mechanically abraded prior to painting. Glossy and previously gloss-painted surfaces should be thoroughly flatted down before application.

Priming:

• Ensure all surfaces are properly prepared before priming.
• New and unpainted concrete or cement rendered substrates: Prime all surfaces with Hydrosol Primer before applying finishing coats.
• Previously painted surfaces in poor condition: Prime porous or friable concrete and cement rendered surfaces with Hydrosol prior to painting.
• Very absorbent surfaces: Apply Hydrosol using a wet-on-wet application method to ensure proper penetration and sealing of the substrate.

Note: Concrete and cement-rich substrates should have a relative humidity below 90% prior to priming and painting.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results.

• Stir the paint thoroughly before use and apply two coats of Finngard Opaque by brush, roller or spray. Polyester and nylon paint brushes are best suited for the application of Finngard Opaque.
• All surfaces to be painted must be dry. The temperature of the air should be at least +5°C and the relative humidity of the air below 80% during application and drying.
• Coverage rates:
  • Smooth surfaces: approximately 6–8m²/litre per coat.
  • Rough surfaces: approximately 3.5–5m²/litre per coat.

Spray application: use a 0.018” – 0.023” spray tip.

Thinning: if necessary for brush and roller application thin by up to 5% with water and for spray application by up to 10% with water.

Note: If using more than one tin of the same colour, intermix prior to use to ensure colour consistency. Check tinted product prior to application to avoid colour differences.

One maintenance coat of Finngard Opaque is usually needed after 15–20 years, depending on exposure and building height.

Protect from frost. Store and transport in tightly closed containers at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
