Rustins Quick Dry Worktop Oil

Rustins Quick Dry Worktop Oil is a premium, water-based blend of natural plant oils specially formulated to nourish and protect all types of wooden work surfaces. Fast-drying and easy to apply, it creates a durable, water-resistant seal that enhances the natural grain of the timber without the risk of scratching, flaking, or chipping. Ideal for maintaining kitchen worktops, dining tables, and other high-use wooden surfaces.

Proper preparation is essential to ensure good penetration and a long-lasting finish.

• Ensure the surface is clean, smooth, dry, and free from wax, dust, and other contaminants.
• Remove any wax by scrubbing with White Spirit or Rustins Surface Cleaner using a scouring pad, then wipe away residues while still wet with clean rags.
• Remove any existing oil finishes using Rustins Strypit Paint and Varnish Stripper, then clean and allow the surface to dry fully.
• Bare wood may be dyed prior to coating using Rustins Wood Dye, if colour is required.

Apply in suitable conditions to ensure proper penetration and an even, durable finish.

• Apply the oil liberally using a clean rag or brush and wipe off any surplus after a few minutes.
• The first coat should be applied liberally with a brush and allowed to dry without wiping off.
• Bare wood requires 3 coats for best protection and finish.
• Allow each coat to dry for 2–3 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.
• Re-coat once the previous coat is fully dry.
• Some woods may require light sanding between coats to achieve a smooth finish.
• Nibs on the final coat may be removed by applying the oil with a scouring pad, rubbing in the direction of the grain, then wiping away surplus oil with clean rags or paper kitchen towels.
• Apply ideally between 15–25°C; do not apply below 10°C.
• Coverage is approximately 13 square metres per litre per coat, depending on the absorbency of the wood.

Clean the surface with white spirit, lightly sand to provide a key, and apply further coats as required to maintain the finish.

Delivery - All orders placed on a working day before 3pm will be dispatched on the same day for next working day delivery. Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed after 3pm on Friday, weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day.

However, due to their bespoke nature, please allow up to an additional 5 working days to accommodate any potential courier delays or delivery issues before receiving a refund or replacement.

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

If we have sent you a different item from what you ordered, we will be happy to organise an exchange for the correct goods at no extra charge to yourself, please get in touch to organise this.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
