Overview

Rustins Danish Oil is a unique blend developed to enhance and protect all types of wood with ease. Unlike traditional Teak Oil, it contains special ingredients that provide a soft, low-lustre finish, highlighting the natural beauty and grain of the timber. This easy-to-apply wipe-on oil penetrates deeply, offering a natural, open-grained appearance that’s especially effective on turned woodwork. Suitable for interior wood surfaces, it's ideal for furniture, woodturning, and food-contact items like kitchenware. Conforming to both The Articles in Contact with Food Regulations and Toys (Safety) Regulations 1995, BS EN71 Part 3, it’s a safe and versatile choice for projects throughout the home.

Preparation
The bare wood must be clean, smooth, dry and free from wax, dust and contaminants. Remove wax or surface oil from oily timbers such as Teak and Iroko by scrubbing with white spirit or Rustins Surface Cleaner and a scouring pad, then wipe away whilst still wet with clean rags. Remove existing paint and varnishes with Rustins Strypit Paint and Varnish Stripper. Bare wood may be dyed before coating with Rustin Wood Dye. Do not apply with Knotting.
Application
Apply liberally with a clean rag or brush and wipe off the surplus oil after a few minutes. Nibs may be removed from the final coat by applying oil with a scouring pad, rubbing in the direction of the grain, then wiping away the surplus with clean rags or paper kitchen towels.
