Ronseal One Coat All Surface Primer and Undercoat is an easy to use fast drying primer that can be applied to most surfaces. Only one coat is needed for the paint to adhere and leave you with a strong and smooth finish. Works on just about any surface including metal, tiles, brick, stone, MDF, plastic, glass and more.

Preparation
Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, algae, fungi or moss.
How to prepare wood for priming
• Lightly sand with a 120 grit sandpaper, working in the direction of the grain
• If your paintwork is in bad condition and is cracked or peeling sand back to the barewood to provide a smooth surface
• Wipe with white spirit and a cloth to clean grease, dirt and dust
• If there are any cracks or holes fill them with appropriate wood filler
How to prepare tiles for priming
• Clean the tiles with bleach
• Use a grout cleaner to get rid of stains
• Wipe down with a damp cloth
• Repair any damaged grout
How prepare cupboards for priming
• Using 120 grit sandpaper give your cupboards and good sanding
• Clean with white spirit and a cloth to remove all dust and debris
• If there are any cracks or holes fill them with appropriate filler
How to prepare metal for priming
Please note, this isn’t suitable to use over rust
• Lightly sand with fine wet and dry sandpaper. If you’re painting galvanised metal, you don’t need to sand it
• Wipe down the sand shavings with white spirit and a cloth
How to prepare uPVC for priming
• Lightly sand with a 120 grit sandpaper
• Wipe clean with a damp cloth and ensure no dust or dirt remains
Application
Before application, stir the tin thoroughly and test a small to ensure the primer adheres.
• Stir the paint thoroughly
• Apply the primer, for wood apply in the direction of the grain
• Allow to dry for two hours
• Apply a topcoat of preferred finish
Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.
Aftercare & Storage
This product it just a primer and should be painted on quickly after it’s dried.
Cleaning
Once you’ve painted over the primer, you’ll be able to clean the surface just like normal.
Repair
If you spot a bit of damage to your primer, don’t worry it’s easy to fix. Sand down the specific spot and then reapply a coat of primer.
