Ronseal Nourishing Decking Oil nourishes your decking whilst protecting against water, mould, mildew and fungal growth. It also protects against the sun and stops it from turning grey. It’s lightly tinted to keep the natural look and feel of your deck.

Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, algae, fungi or moss.

• To clean decking give it a good brush with a stiff broom to remove any dirt, debris or loose wood.
• Check the surface of the decking for loose screws or boards and ensure these are tightened.
• If the decking has been previously stained, painted or varnished, we recommend you strip it back to the bare wood. For previously stained decking use Ronseal Decking Restorer to take the deck back to its natural colour. This also helps the oil to soak in, so your deck will look great for longer.
• If your decking has been effected by algae, fungi or clean with Ronseal Decking Cleaner & Reviver.

New decking

• Most new decks come with a bit of waterproofing protection. This could stop the oil from sticking. To avoid this, give your new deck a good scrub with Ronseal Decking Cleaner & Reviver. Alternatively, leave it to weather for six months.

Thoroughly shake tin, test a small area of deck to ensure you are happy with finish and colour.

• Thoroughly shake the tin to ensure the contents is mixed together.
• Pour the contents into a container or tray.
• If using more than one tin, mix together to ensure a consistant colour.
• Apply the oil from the furthest corner in the direction of the grain.
• Work on 3-4 boards at a time.
• Wipe away excess oil with a lint-free cloth.
• Allow to dry for 6 hours then apply the second coat.
• It will be rainproof after 2 hours.
• Allow 24 hours before moving furniture back onto your deck.

Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.

Cleaning

Don’t empty any left over oil into drains or watercourses. Store in a cool dry place and out of direct sunlight.

Maintenance

To keep your finish looking its best for longer, regularly clean your deck and remove leaves, mould, mildew, algae and any other dirt. Mould and algae should be removed with decking cleaner, general dust and dirt can be tackled with a stiff wire broom.

Inspect your coating every six months to look out for any chips or patches. Re-coat the patch when necessary.

Q. Can Ronseal Nourishing Decking Oil be applied over the top of decking stain and paint?

A. The decking oil needs to penetrate through the surface of the wood, any previous treatments applied may prevent this from happening. Any previous product will need to be removed first for oil application.

Q. Can Ronseal Nourishing Decking Oil be used on old decking?

A. Yes absolutely. This would be ideal to nourish any old, grey and tired looking decking. It would be advised to follow the manufacturer's instructions. For older decking you may be required to apply more coats as older decking will absorb more oil to nourish the wood.

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
