Ensure the surface is clean and free from grease, rust and any contamination.
- On bare wood lightly sand the first coat to remove grain raising.
- Lightly abrade previously painted surfaces to provide a key and wipe with a damp cloth to remove dust.
- Surfaces affected by rust can be brush down or treated with a rust remover such as Hammerite Kurust Rust Remover for metals.
Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results. Light reflection will accentuate brush marks and imperfections in the background. The covering ability of this paint will vary with the colour. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin
- Mix well before use.
- Apply using a good quality brush, roller, or sprayer.
- For porous surface dilute the first coat with 10% water.
- Take care to eliminate brush/roller marks by overbrushing. Brush marks will be highlighted by the metallic sheen.
- Leave to dry for 2-4 hours between coats.
- Apply 2-3 coats.
- Allow the final coat to dry for 15mins-1 hour and leave for 5-7 days to cure before placing heavy objects on the surface.
Note: Applying in high temperatures or direct sunlight will affect drying time.
Protect from extremes of temperature during storage and application
