• Wipe down with a clean cloth; for heavily soiled surfaces, a mild detergent can be used, followed by thorough drying.
• On older or deteriorated wood, cut back any rotten, loose, or weak areas to expose solid, stable timber.
• This provides a secure base for the filler to bond effectively.
• Lightly sand or abrade smooth surfaces to create a slightly roughened texture.
• This ensures a good mechanical key, improving adhesion and durability of the repair.
• Confirm the surface is fully clean, dry, and solid before applying the filler.

Metolux 1 Part Wood Filler is ready to use straight from the container, no mixing required. Its convenient formulation allows for fast and easy repairs on small cracks, pinholes, and imperfections.

• After long storage, a small amount of liquid may form on the surface. Simply stir this back into the filler with a spatula or small tool this will not affect performance.
• Apply the filler directly to the repair area using a putty knife, spatula, or similar tool.
• Shape and smooth the material with a spreader or flat former.
• Leave the filler slightly proud of the surface to allow for sanding and a perfect finish.
• Typical gel time is approximately 30 minutes at 15°C, with full strength reached in 2 hours.
• Curing time will vary depending on ambient temperature; avoid use below -5°C.
• Once fully cured, sand the repair thoroughly to create a smooth, even surface.
• Ensure the entire repair area is sanded to allow stain or finish to penetrate evenly.
• Highly absorbent timbers may make the filler more visible; for best results, test in an inconspicuous area before full application.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
