- Excellent sealer for terracotta & stone floors
Area | Interior |
Recommended Use | Sealing and providing a hard wearing finish for wood, terracotta and stone floors. |
Coverage | Up to 12m2 per litre |
Drying Time | 24 Hours |
Recommended Coats | 1-2 Coats |
Ensure the area to be treated is clean and free from dust, debris, and grease.
- All previous finishes must be removed prior to application, this can be done by sanding or using an appropriate stripper.
- Dilute the first few coats of Boiled Linseed Oil with up to 30% turpentine for easier application.
- Apply the mixture by rubbing it into the wood with a lint-free cotton cloth.
- After 20 minutes, wipe away any excess oil using a clean lint-free cloth to ensure proper absorption and avoid a sticky surface.
- Repeat the process once or twice, allowing 24 hours between each coat.
- Apply a final undiluted coat of Boiled Linseed Oil, wiping off any excess.
- Let the final coat harden for several days before using the surface.
- For best results, lightly rub between coats with Liberon Ultrafine Steel Wool (Grade 0000).
- If the surface gets damaged, simply apply a fresh coat of oil.
- Store Liberon Boiled Linseed Oil at a temperature above 5°C. Always replace the lid otherwise the oil can deteriorate.
- Maintenance: wipe surface with a damp cloth and buff dry. Re-oil as and when required depending upon usage.
- If the excess is not removed and the surface becomes sticky, wipe with white spirit to remove the sticky film and allow to dry before continuing.
- CAUTION: Risk of self-combustion. Wet with water any textiles or tools soiled with the product and dispose of them in a tightly closed container.
- Important: oil finishes bring out the natural colours of timber. A wet surface will be an indication of the final colour. Always test product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for colour, compatibility and end result.
- Remove as much of the oil as possible from the tools after use. Do not dispose of residues and washing water/solvents in the sink, toilet, sewer, bin, etc., in order to avoid discharge into the environment.
