Hammerite Rust Remover Gel is specially formulated for the safe removal of rust from nuts, bolts, garden tools and other metal objects. It’s easy to apply with a non drip formulation for vertical surfaces and removes rust in just 2-3 hours. It can be used on garage doors, BBQ’s, metal garden furniture and metal railings to name a few. Topcoat can be applied in 3 hours after use.

Preparation

Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, dirt, grease, flaking paint or rust.

• Use a wire brush to remove loose rust and flaking paint

Application

Before applying always test a small area

• Use a brush to apply the gel liberally

• Work into the surface

• Leave for 15-20 minutes

• Repeat the process, apply additional gel as necessary at 30 minute intervals for a period of 2-3 hours or until rust removed

• If the rust has not been completely removed repeat the process

• Under some conditions a light deposit of flash rust can occur, this can be wiped off or over coated when dry

• To prevent new rust we recommend you use Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint as a top coat

Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.

Aftercare & Storage

Store in a dry well ventilated area and protect from frost and strong sunlight.
