Hammerite Hammered Direct To Rust Metal Paint, comes in a handy aerosol spray can for easy application. It’s specially formulated to perform as a primer, undercoat and topcoat in one. This product can be applied directly to rust and dries quickly to a subtle hammered effect with a metallic sheen.

Hammerite hammered finish spray paint comes in Black, White and Silver and can be used directly on to metal doors, garden furniture, gates and railings.

Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, dirt, grease, flaking paint or rust.

• Remove any loose paint and debris with a wire brush.
• Remove dirt and dust with diluted detergent.
• Remove grease with Hammerite Brush Cleaner and Thinners, then rinse with clean water and allow to dry.
• On bare zinc, aluminium and galvanised surfaces, firstly apply Hammerite Special Metals Primer.

Before applying Hammerite Hammered Direct To Rust Metal Paint - Aerosol test a small area to ensure you are happy with the colour and finish.

• Spray a test patch of Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint onto painted surfaces and leave for 1 hour.
• If there is no reaction apply Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint directly to surface.
• If there is a reaction remove all paint before applying Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint.
• For best results store the aerosol at room temperature for two hours prior to use.
• Shake can vigorously in a vertical motion, until the agitator ball is heard and continue to shake for a further 3 minutes.
• Spray in light even strokes from a distance of 15cm to avoid runs.
• Do not concentrate spray on one spot.
• Apply at least 3-4 coats for maximum protection.
• Allow 15 minutes between coats .
• Between coats invert can and spray for 2 seconds to avoid blockages.
• Touch dry 15 minutes, recoat after 15 minutes.

Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.

A. A hammered coating looks as though it has been repeatedly hit with a small hammer, without damaging the paint or the substrate. It leaves you with a subtle effect and has a metallic sheen.

Q. Can Hammerite Hammered Direct To Rust Metal Paint prevent rust?

A. The Hammerite Hammered paint can prevent rust from coming through the paint. The special formula acts like a barrier as it contains special anti-corrosive pigments that stop the formation of rust.

Q. What is the difference between smooth and hammered in Hammerite?

A. Hammerite's Smooth finish paints have a glossier high sheen finish which is more a like traditional gloss or satin paints whilst the hammered finish has a lightly textured surface. The coating looks like it has been gently hit with a small hammer but still has a lovely metallic sheen that will give you the same durability as the smooth.

  If placed on a working day before 3pm, the AM Delivery will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday AM (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day for delivery on the following AM. All orders have a charge of £12.99 for AM delivery.

• Late Cut-Off: Get an extra hour to place your order for Next Working Day delivery.
  Orders placed on a working day before 4pm will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 4pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £5.99 for Late Cut-Off delivery.

• Saturday Delivery: Get your order on Saturday
  Option available on Fridays. Orders placed on Friday before 3pm will be delivered on Saturday. All orders have a charge of £9.95 for Saturday delivery.

Exceptions

We do not deliver to the Channel Islands or the Republic of Ireland

Returns

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

We always recommend getting samples or contacting us for free of charge colourcharts. We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

Faulty Items

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you. Please get in touch to discuss these options. If you find fault after 30 days of purchase you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly as they will be able to offer support with the product.
