Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint in a smooth finish which comes in a handy aerosol can for easy application. It’s specially formulated to perform as a primer, undercoat and topcoat in one. This product can be applied directly to rust and dries quickly to a flawless high sheen finish.

Preparation
Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, dirt, grease, flaking paint or rust.
• Remove any loose paint and debris with a wire brush
• Remove dirt and dust with diluted detergent
• Remove grease with Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners, then rinse with clean water and allow to dry
• On bare zinc, aluminium and galvanised surfaces, firstly apply Hammerite Special Metals Primer
Application
Before applying test a small area to ensure colour and adhesion.
• Spray a test patch of Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint onto painted surfaces and leave for 1 hour
• If there is no reaction apply Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint directly to surface
• If there is a reaction remove all paint before applying Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint
• For best results store the aerosol at room temperature for two hours prior to use
• Shake can vigorously in a vertical motion, until the agitator ball is heard and continue to shake for a further 3 minutes
• Spray in light even strokes from a distance of 15cm to avoid runs
• Do not concentrate spray on one spot
• Apply at least 3-4 coats for maximum protection
• Allow 15 minutes between coats
• Between coats invert can and spray for 2 seconds to avoid blockages
• Touch dry 15 minutes
• Recoat after 15 minutes

Faulty Items
If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you.
