Dulux Trade Aluminium Wood Primer - Silver

Suitable for all types of hardwoods and softwoods, Dulux Trade Aluminium Wood Primer is solvent-based and contains aluminium pigment. This primer is suitable for interior and exterior use, including on surfaces that are highly resinous. You can use it as a sealer to stop bleed through newly applied paint and on aged bitumen or creosote coated surfaces. This primer is effective as a first coat when used with Dulux Trade Aluminium Paint on timber, where a two coat aluminium coating is necessary.

Prepare the surface by ensuring that it is clean, dry and free from dirt, grease or any other contaminants. Be sure to remove any defective coatings before you start.

• If the surface you are painting is new, it's particularly important to ensure that it is completely dry before you begin.
• Previously painted surfaces should be thoroughly rubbed down
• Cracks or holes should be filled prior to applying the primer

Always read the instructions found on the tin before applying this primer

• Do not use in temperatures below 5°C. Stir thoroughly before use and apply with a brush only.
• Please note that spray application is not recommended for health and safety reasons associated with this solvent based product.
• Do not thin
• For best results, use a good quality synthetic brush. Apply one or two coats of Dulux Trade Aluminium Wood Primer. Apply two coats over highly resinous wood, or surfaces that are coated in bitumen or creosote.
• Go with the grain and use the least amount of brushstrokes as possible
• Allow up to 24 hours between coats. For aged creosote or bitumen surfaces, allow 48 hours.
• Protect from frost or rain until dry

Q. Will Dulux Trade Aluminium Wood Primer offer protection?

A. The primer provides a protective barrier between the wood and the paint. It helps to seal the wood and prevent any moisture penetration, which could lead to issues like rotting, warping, or swelling of the wood over time.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
