For best results, all surfaces must be sound, clean and dry before painting. New surfaces in particular must be allowed to fully dry before decorating.

• Remove all loose or defective paint. Extra care should be taken when preparing pre-1960s painted surfaces on wood or metal, as these may contain harmful lead.
• Where required, wash surfaces to remove dirt, grease, and powdery or dusty residues. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry completely.
• If surfaces remain powdery after cleaning, seal them with a suitable plaster sealer.
• Lightly rub down glossy or uneven areas to create a smooth, keyable surface, then wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove dust.
• Fill any cracks, holes or surface defects using Polycell Trade Polyfilla or an appropriate filler, then sand smooth once dry.

Always preform a test prior to application to ensure compatibility.

• Stir thoroughly before use to ensure an even consistency.
• Seal new or bare surfaces with a first coat of Dulux Trade Drywall Primer Sealer to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
• The normal finishing process is 2-3 full coats of Dulux Trade Ultra Matt.
• For significant colour changes, additional coats may be required to achieve full opacity and uniform coverage.
• Can be applied using brush, roller, or airless spray.
• Airless Spray: For best results use a 515 or 517 Low Pressure tip @ 1300 - 1700 psi (89 – 117 bar). Alternatively, use a 517 tip @ 2000 – 2400 psi (138 - 165 bar).
• Apply in thin, even coats to avoid runs, streaks, or uneven texture.
• Lightly sand between coats if necessary to achieve an ultra-smooth finish, particularly on high-sheen areas.
• As with all water-based paints, do not apply at temperatures below 8ºC, in accordance with British Standard BS 6150.
• Avoid painting in high humidity or on damp surfaces, as this can affect drying, adhesion, and the final finish.
• Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying.
• Allow sufficient drying time between coats as recommended on the product datasheet.
• Surfaces can typically be recoated once touch-dry, but allow longer drying times in cooler or more humid conditions.

Faulty Items
