Dowsil 784 Glazing Silicone Sealant is a one-part silicone sealant, specifically designed for glazing single glass panes where resistance to mildew is essential. Its fungicide formula provides excellent protection against mould, making it ideal for use in areas with high humidity, such as bathrooms and kitchens. Offering good adhesion to various non-porous surfaces, such as glass and aluminium. It is perfect for weather sealing in moisture-prone environments, ensuring long-lasting durability and a clean appearance without mould growth.

Before applying the sealant, verify that the surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry, and sound. Ensure they are free from frost, release agents, old sealants, and other contaminants that could impair adhesion.

• All surfaces should be cleaned and degreased. Wipe the surfaces with a suitable solvent like DOWSIL™ R-40 Universal Cleaner on a clean, oil- and lint-free cloth to remove any dirt, grease, or residues.
• Mask areas adjacent to the joints with tape to prevent contamination of the substrates and to ensure a neat sealant line.
• Allow the surfaces to dry thoroughly before applying the sealant.
• DOWSIL™ 781 Acetoxy Sealant offers good adhesion to most non-porous substrates found in glazing applications. However, due to the variety of coatings available, we recommend that the substrates be tested for adhesion prior to use.
• The use of a primer will help maximize adhesion, especially where cleaning is a concern (e.g., mill-finished aluminum).

The silicone sealant is ready for immediate use. Cut the tip off the cartridge and screw on the nozzle and cut the nozzle to the desired bead size. We recommend using the Geocel Cox Skeleton Gun for application.

• When back-up material is required, closed-cell polyethylene backer rod is recommended. For joints too shallow to allow the use of a backer rod, low-tack polyethylene tape should be applied. These back-up materials provide necessary back pressure and prevent three-sided adhesion, which can restrict the movement capability of the sealant.
• Apply the sealant in a continuous bead using an appropriate gun or dispensing tool. Ensure that the sealant fully covers the joint and adheres to both surfaces.
• Tool the sealant within 5 minutes of application to ensure good contact between the sealant and the substrate. Tooling also helps to create a smooth, professional finish for best results we recommend using Bedec Silicone Profilers.
• Ensure the joint width is properly designed to accommodate the sealant's movement capability
• For joints 6-12 mm wide, the seal depth should be 6 mm.
• For joints larger than 12 mm wide, use a 2:1 width-to-depth ratio.
• In situations requiring fillet joints, ensure a minimum of 6 mm sealant bite to each substrate.
• Once the sealant is applied and tooled, allow it to cure according to the product's instructions. Clean excess sealant from tools and non-porous surfaces with DOWSIL™ R-40 Universal Cleaner while the sealant is still uncured.

A. DOWSIL™ 784 Glazing Silicone Sealant adheres well to non-porous surfaces such as glass, aluminum, PVC, polycarbonate, ceramics, and other typical glazing substrates. For optimal adhesion, a test application is recommended, especially when using substrates with different coatings.

• AM Delivery: Get your order by 2pm
  If placed on a working day before 3pm, the AM Delivery will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday AM (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day for delivery on the following AM. All orders have a charge of £12.99 for AM delivery.

• Late Cut-Off: Get an extra hour to place your order for Next Working Day delivery.
  Orders placed on a working day before 4pm will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 4pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £5.99 for Late Cut-Off delivery.

• Saturday Delivery: Get your order on Saturday
  Option available on Fridays. Orders placed on Friday before 3pm will be delivered on Saturday. All orders have a charge of £9.95 for Saturday delivery.

Returns

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

We always recommend getting samples or contacting us for free of charge colourcharts. We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you.
