Before applying Coo-Var Stain Lock, ensure all surfaces are properly prepared to achieve the best results:

• Clean the surface thoroughly to remove all dirt, dust, oil, grease, and other contaminants.
• Remove any loose or flaking material using a scraper or stiff brush.
• Ensure the surface is completely dry before application.
• For previously painted surfaces, lightly abrade with fine sandpaper to provide a suitable key for adhesion.

Proper preparation is essential to ensure stain blocking performance and long-lasting results.

• Use masking tape and protective sheeting to cover adjacent surfaces and flooring. This will help prevent overspray and maintain a clean work area.
• Shake or stir well before use. Apply using a spray gun or aerosol can, holding the nozzle approximately 8–12 inches (20–30 cm) from the surface. Use smooth, overlapping strokes for even coverage.
• Allow the primer to dry thoroughly before applying a topcoat.
• If the surface is highly porous or has significant stains or discoloration, you may need to apply a second coat for complete coverage and better adhesion.

Ideal for surfaces like drywall, plaster, wood, and masonry, it forms a smooth, even base that helps block stains and ensures strong paint adhesion. It dries quickly, contains low VOCs, and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use making it a cleaner, safer, and more convenient alternative to traditional solvent-based primers.

Q. How do I apply Stain Lock Sprayable Primer and how long does it take to dry?

A. To apply Stain Lock Sprayable Primer, clean the surface thoroughly and sand any glossy areas for better adhesion. Mask off surrounding surfaces, then spray using smooth, overlapping strokes from 8–12 inches away. Allow it to dry fully before applying your topcoat. Drying time is typically touch dry in 1 hour, hard dry in 2 hours, and fully cured in 3–5 days. One coat is usually sufficient, though a second may be needed for heavy stains or porous surfaces.

Delivery - All orders placed on a working day before 3pm will be dispatched on the same day for next working day delivery. We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items
