Before applying paint, ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, solid, and free from dust, grease, or loose material. Prepare substrates as follows:

• Renders (plaster) CS II – CS IV:
  • Solid, even renders can be coated directly.
  • Slightly absorbent or sanding renders: prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund, CapaSol RapidGrund, or Sylitol RapidGrund 111.
• Gypsum plasters:
  • Sand off any sintered skin and remove dust.
  • Prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund, CapaSol RapidGrund, or Sylitol RapidGrund 111.
• Gypsum boards / plasterboards:
  • Sand down filler burrs.
  • Prime all areas with OptiSilan TiefGrund, CapaSol RapidGrund, or Sylitol RapidGrund 111.
  • If boards contain water-soluble or staining ingredients, use Caparol AquaSperrgrund.
• Concrete:
  • Remove release agents and chalking residues.
  • Prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund, CapaSol RapidGrund, or Sylitol RapidGrund 111.
• Load-bearing coatings:
  • Apply directly on matt, slightly absorbent coatings.
  • Glossy surfaces must be roughened first.
• Non-bearing coatings:
  • Remove all unstable or peeling coatings.
  • Prime porous or absorbent surfaces with OptiSilan TiefGrund.
• Distemper coatings:
  • Wash off thoroughly, then prime with Dupa plaster strengthener or OptiSilan TiefGrund.
• Wallpaper:
  • For woodchip, relief, or embossed wallpapers: test with a trial coat.
  • Remove non-adhesive or damaged wallpaper completely, clean residues, and prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund.
• Stained surfaces (nicotine, soot, grease, water):
  • Wash stains with water and detergent; let dry.
  • Apply a barrier primer such as Caparol AquaSperrgrund fein or Caparol-Filtergrund grob.
• Wood and wood-based materials:
  • Prime with Capacryl Holz-Isogrund.
  • For melamine-coated boards, use Capacryl Haftprimer.
• Old lime fillers:
  • Sand off sintered layers.
  • If surface fails the wetting test, remove completely and rebuild.
  • Otherwise, prime with OptiSilan TiefGrund.
• Cracks, chips, or joints:
  • Fill with appropriate filler before painting.

CapaMaXX Pro can be applied with brush, roller, or suitable airless spray equipment.

Airless Application

• Dilution: max. 5% with water
• Spray pressure: 150 – 180 bar
• Spray angle: 40° – 50°
• Nozzle size: 0.019" – 0.021"
• Pistol filter: approx. 0.31 mm

Internally Fed Roller Systems

• Spray pressure: 80 – 120 bar
• Pistol filter: approx. 0.31 mm

Tool Cleaning: Clean tools thoroughly with water immediately after use.

Method of Application

• Apply a rich, even coat undiluted or diluted with max. 5% water.
• On high-contrast surfaces, apply a primer coat diluted with max. 5% water first.
• For unevenly absorbent substrates, use a primer coat of Caparol Haftgrund EG.

Surface Coating System

Approx. 125 ml/m² per coat on smooth surfaces. Higher consumption on rough surfaces. Always determine exact consumption with a test coat.

Application Conditions

• Minimum application and drying temperature: +5 °C (air and substrate).

Drying Time

• Surface dry and recoatable after 4–6 hours at +20 °C and 65% relative humidity.
• Fully dry and loadable after approx. 3 days.
• Drying times will be longer at lower temperatures or higher humidity.

Note: Coat wet-on-wet in one go to avoid build-up. For airless spraying, stir paint well and sieve before use.

Always keep the container upright during storage and transport to prevent spills. Keep in a cool, dry and frost-free place.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
