Benjamin Moore Multi Purpose Primer - 1 Gallon (3.78L) - White

Benjamin Moore Multi-Purpose Primer is an acrylic primer designed for both interior and exterior surfaces. Quick-drying, it is ready for recoat in 1 hour. Offering a strong adhesion to indoor and outdoor surfaces, it is also mildew resistant and effectively suppresses light stains. Versatile, this primer is suitable for a wide range of materials, such as wood, drywall, ceramic tile and concrete, and ensures a smooth, durable base for most of your paint project.

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of dirt, dust, grease, oil, soap, wax, scaling paint, water soluble materials, and mildew.

• New surfaces should be fully primed, and previously painted surfaces may be primed or spot primed as necessary.
• Remove any peeling or scaling paint and sand these areas to feather edges smooth with adjacent surfaces. Glossy areas should be dulled. Drywall surfaces must be free of sanding dust.
• New plaster or masonry surfaces must be allowed to cure (30 days) before applying base coat. Cured plaster should be hard, have a slight sheen and maximum pH of 10; soft, porous or powdery plaster indicates improper cure. Never sand a plaster surface; knife off any protrusions and prime plaster before and after applying patching compound.
• Poured or pre-cast concrete with a very smooth surface should be etched or abraded to promote adhesion after removing all form release agents and curing compounds.
• Remove any powder or loose particles before priming. Wood substrates must be thoroughly dry.
• Caution: Smooth planed clapboards or siding must be sanded thoroughly to break the “mill glaze” allowing proper penetration and adhesion.
• Difficult Substrates: If the surfaces to be painted exhibit severe tannin or smoke staining, an alkyd-based Benjamin Moore primer may be your best choice for conquering these severe conditions. See Datasheet for more information.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure compatibility

• Stir thoroughly before use
• Apply one or two coats
• For best results, use a Benjamin Moore Professional custom-blended nylon/polyester brush, Benjamin Moore Professional roller, or a similar product
• This product can also be sprayed. Spray, Airless: Pressure: 1,500-2,500 psi; Tip: 0.013-0.017.

Note: On hard, non-porous surfaces, such as glazed ceramics and non-ferrous metal, maximum adhesion and hardness may take 3-4 days to develop.

Delivery

All orders placed on a working day before 3pm will be dispatched on the same day for next working day delivery. Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £3.99 for express delivery. We strongly suggest customers avoid booking tradespeople until they receive their order. Next Day Paint will not be held liable for any costs incurred due to order processing errors, delivery delays, or other issues that may result in financial loss.

You can now choose some special delivery options. 

• AM Delivery: Get your order by 2pm
  If placed on a working day before 3pm, the AM Delivery will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday AM (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day for delivery on the following AM. All orders have a charge of £12.99 for AM delivery.

• Late Cut-Off: Get an extra hour to place your order for Next Working Day delivery.
  Orders placed on a working day before 4pm will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 4pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £5.99 for Late Cut-Off delivery.

• Saturday Delivery: Get your order on Saturday
  Option available on Fridays. Orders placed on Friday before 3pm will be delivered on Saturday. All orders have a charge of £9.95 for Saturday delivery.

Exceptions

We do not deliver to the Channel Islands or the Republic of Ireland

Returns

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

We always recommend getting samples or contacting us for free of charge colourcharts. We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

Faulty Items

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you. Please get in touch to discuss these options. If you find fault after 30 days of purchase you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly as they will be able to offer support with the product.
