Barrettine Cut End Preserver for Timber & Cladding in Clear offers long lasting protection from rot, fungi and blue stain. It has been specially formulated to treat the exposed end grains that are especially vulnerable to wet rot, fungus, discolouration and wood boring insects. It penetrates deeply into the cut ends, giving it a water repellant finish. The oils and resins contained within it give longevity to the protection. This product is also available in Green.

  • Ideal for cladding and other cut pressure treated timbers
  • Protects exposed end grains
  • Coverage up to 180ml per m2

Shake Well. Apply with a synthetic brush designed for solvent-borne products. Spread evenly and ensure that the end grain is thoroughly treated along with cut and drilled areas. Reseal container after use. It is recommended that a minimum of 2 coats are applied depending on wood species and surface characteristics. Allow 6–12 hours drying time (touch dry) between coats.

Applying successive coats will provide a darker finish and on smooth wood a higher sheen finish. If using the Clear Preserver in conjunction with a stain or wood dye it is advised to apply the colourant before the Preserver, test effect on an off-cut initially. Clean equipment and spills with White Spirit immediately after use

Apply liberally to the end grain and allow it to be thoroughly absorbed. The ends of the timber can also be stood in Cut End Preserver for an hour to allow it to deeply penetrate.

Application method: Amateur: brush and roller. Professional: Brush, Dip and Roller.

Protect soil, plants, aquatic environment etc from splashes
