Ensure all surfaces are sound, clean, and dry, and free from defective or poorly adhering material, dirt, grease, and salts.

• New plaster and masonry must be fully dry before applying primer or paint.
• Apply a sealing coat of thinned Armstead Trade Vinyl Silk (up to 1 part clean water to 20 parts paint) to new plaster and masonry.
• When sanding, avoid inhalation of dust by wearing a suitable face mask.

Proper preparation ensures a smooth, durable finish and enhances the paint’s performance.

Always follow the manufacturers instructions found on the tin, it is recommended that a small test area is applied before painting the entire surface to ensure compatibility.

• Apply by brush, roller, or airless spray.
• As with all water-based paints, do not apply in temperatures below 8ºC, in accordance with British Standard BS 6150.
• Stir the paint thoroughly before use. On very absorbent surfaces, apply a sealing coat of thinned Armstead Trade Vinyl Silk.
• Apply 1 or 2 coats of Armstead Trade Vinyl Silk for best results.

Thinning

• Sealing new/bare surfaces: Add up to 1 part clean water to 20 parts paint.
• Normal use: Thinning is not required.
• Airless spray: Thinning is not required.

Airless Spray Recommendations

• Use a 515 or 517 Low Pressure tip at 1200–1600 psi (83–110 bar), or a 515 or 517 tip at 2000–2300 psi (138–158 bar).
• These are guidelines only. Adjust settings as needed depending on equipment type, substrate, and site or atmospheric conditions.

Drying Times (single coat, standard thickness)

• Touch Dry: 1–2 hours*
• Recoat: 2–4 hours*

Delivery of Tinted Products - Tinted paints are dispatched in line with our express order process, shown below. However, due to their bespoke nature, please allow up to an additional 5 working days to accommodate any potential courier delays or delivery issues before receiving a refund or replacement.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
