Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Armstead Trade tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.

Clean Up	Remove as much product as possible from equipment and clean with water.

Proper surface preparation ensures maximum adhesion, durability, and a smooth finish.

• Surfaces must be sound, clean, and dry, free from defective or poorly adhering material, dirt, grease, and salts.
• New plaster and masonry must be fully dry before priming or painting.
• Lead Paint Warning: Take special precautions when preparing older paint surfaces, especially on wood or metal coated before the 1990s, as they may contain lead. Use appropriate protective equipment and safety procedures when sanding or stripping.

Correct preparation will help achieve a tough, scrubbable, and long-lasting matt finish suitable for high-traffic interior walls.

Always follow the manufacturers instructions found on the tin, it is recommended that a small test area is applied before painting the entire surface to ensure compatibility.

• As with all water-based paints, do not apply in temperatures below 8°C, in accordance with British Standard BS 6150.
• Apply evenly with brush, roller, or airless spray.
• Stir paint thoroughly before use.
• Sealing new or bare surfaces: Add up to 1 part clean water to 10 parts paint.
• Normal use: Thinning is usually not required.
• Airless Spray Application: Thinning is not required, but the paint can be thinned up to 10% (1 part water to 10 parts paint) if needed.
• Recommended settings for best results: 517 Low Pressure tip @ 1300-1700 psi (89-117 bar). Alternatively, 517 tip @ 2000-2300 psi (138-158 bar). Adjust settings based on equipment type, substrate, and site conditions.
• Drying Times (Single Coat, Standard Thickness): Touch dry: 1-2 hours*. Recoat: 2-4 hours*
• The normal finishing process is 2 full coats of Armstead Trade Durable Matt, but on previously painted surfaces in good condition, where similar colours are used, 1 coat may be sufficient.

Ensure good ventilation and allow full drying between coats for a durable, hardwearing finish.

Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost. To prevent spillage, please store and transport upright.

Q. How many coats of Armstead Trade Durable Matt Paint are needed?

A. For most surfaces, 2 full coats are recommended to achieve a durable, hardwearing matt finish. On previously painted surfaces in good condition with similar colours, 1 coat may be sufficient. Always ensure the surface is clean, dry, and properly prepared before painting.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items
