Peelaway 1 and 7 test pack is the ideal solution for testing painted sufaces to decide most suitable version to use for stripping paints and varnishes. It can also be used for assesing application thickness and drying times. Peelaway 7 is ideal for the removal of more modern and water based finishes whilst Peelaway 1 will remove older lead and oil based paints. Each project can potentially give different results and this is why it is imperative to carry out test patches

Each sample pot contains a plastic applicator and blanket.

Ensure the area to be treated is clean and free from dust, debris and other contaminants to ensure good adhesion.

• Cover any surrounding surfaces with a polythene sheet and masking tape.
• Do not sand / remove flakes of paint if suspected to contain lead.
• Always wear suitable protective clothing.

Always apply a test patch before using this product, test patches should be completed before undertaking any paint removal project.

• Mask off a small area around 75 x 75mm and apply the paste at different thicknesses its recommended to do test strips at 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm or up to 6mm according to the thickness of the coating to be removed
• Place the blanket, print side up onto the paste
• Allow to stand from 2 to 48 hours, leave longer for heavy build up over moldings (up to 72 hours)
• To remove, the spatula should be inserted into the paste and a section gently lifted away. If the original surface is apparent, the test patch can be removed and the surface wiped with a damp sponge. If the paint can still be seen, the test patch should be replaced and re-examined after a few hours.
• Continue testing until the original surface is no longer apparent to establish correct paste thickness, timing, and the designated paste to be applied

Q. How do you know which Peelaway we need to use and when?

A. The twin pack of the peelaway 1 and 7 is the best way to find out which can be used. Always test before purchasing a larger tub to ensure that you are using the correct product for the job. It is often impossible to know the type of paint or surface before the coating is removed and therefore one product will remove the paint better than the other. Never risk it always test it.

Q. What is the difference between Peelaway 1 and Peelaway 7?

A. If you are trying to remove the paint that has been applied for many years it is recommended to follow up Peelaway 7 with that of Peelaway 1. Peelaway 7 would help to remove away the modern paints followed by Peelaway 1 to remove the old, lead and oil based paints.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
