Tikkurila Optiva Colour is a full matt trade paint designed for interior walls and ceilings where exceptional coverage and a flawless finish are required.

This high-solids, water-based acrylic emulsion provides excellent opacity while helping to reduce flashing and picture framing for a uniform appearance. With zero VOC emissions, it is ideal for environmentally conscious projects in homes, schools, offices, healthcare facilities, public buildings and commercial spaces.

Suitable for both new and previously painted surfaces, Optiva Colour delivers a durable, professional-quality finish with outstanding colour consistency and application performance.

Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Tikkurila tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order. Note: Depending on the amount of colourant required to mix your chosen colour, there may be up to a 10% variant on the advertised paint volume.

Clean Up	Remove as much product as possible from the equipment before cleaning with water

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and properly prepared before painting. The ambient temperature should be at least +5 °C and not higher than +25 °C and the relative humidity of air below 80%.

Unpainted Surfaces

• New plaster and concrete substrates can be painted after 4 weeks of seasoning. Gypsum boards, cardboards and putty may be painted after they are fuly dry.
• Remove all dirt, dust, contaminants and smooth out irregularities and losses with putty.
• Prime with 1 coat of Tikkurila Optiva Primer - It is possible to prime the surface with diluted Tikkurila Optiva Colour (max. dilution with water up to 30%)
• Finish with 2 coats of Optiva Colour.

Previously Painted Surfaces

• Clean surfaces thoroughly and remove grease and dirt and flaking fragments.
• Sand glossy surfaces and smooth out irregularities and losses with putty.
• Prime with 1 coat of Tikkurila Optiva Primer - It is possible to prime the surface with diluted Tikkurila Optiva Colour (max. dilution with water up to 30%)
• Finish with 2 coats of Optiva Colour.

Surfaces painted with glue or lime paint

• Remove thoroughly the lime or glue paint.
• Remove all dirt, dust, contaminants and smooth out irregularities and losses with putty.
• Prime with 1 coat of Tikkurila Optiva Primer - It is possible to prime the surface with diluted Tikkurila Optiva Colour (max. dilution with water up to 30%)
• Finish with 2 coats of Optiva Colour.

It is recommended to check if the used putty is strong and stable surface – if after delicate hand wipe the putty is faling or leave the dust on hand then it means that the surface is loose and it has to be primed with Tikkurila Suprabilit.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results.

• Stir thoroughly before use to ensure the paint is completely mixed. If necessary thin up to 5% with water.
• Depending on substrate porosity apply 2 coats of Optiva colour by brush, roller or spray.
• Some colours with lower hiding power, particularly those marked as LH or intensive shades mixed from C base, may require additional coats. For best coverage with these colours, use Tikkurila Optiva Primer tinted to a similar shade as the topcoat.
• Painting tape should be removed immediately after painting, before the paint will dry.

The paint achieves full wet scrub resistance property (according to EN 1300) after 28 days of painting.

Note: If using more than one tin of the same colour, intermix prior to use to ensure colour consistency. Check tinted product before application to avoid colour differences.

Store the paint in dry conditions and protect from extremes of temperature.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
