Sandtex Rapid Dry Plus Primer Undercoat

Sandtex Rapid Dry Plus Primer Undercoat is a water-based, quick-drying primer undercoat that provides the perfect foundation for the application of gloss and satin paints on exterior wood and metal, especially the Sandtex® Rapid Dry range. The advanced technology combines the traditional qualities of a solvent-based primer with a quick drying low odour application. It creates a smooth base on doors, windows, gates, railings, playhouses, and sheds as well as other garden surfaces. The all in one formulation removes the need for a separate primer and undercoat helping you to save time and money.

All products in the Sandtex® Rapid Dry Plus range are packaged in fully recyclable materials.

Ensure the surfaces is clean, dry and free from dirt and grease as this may affect adhesion.

• For new or burnt off woodwork, rub down the surface with glass paper to a smooth finish.
• Bare wood - treat any knots or resinous parts with a knotting solution or stain blocker.
• Prviously painted surfaces should be sanded to provide a key for the primer and undercoat to adhere to.
• Fill any voids or gaps with an appropriate filler such as Polycell Wood Filler for general repairs.

Do not apply if there is a risk of rain or if the temperature is likely to fall below 8°C during application or drying. We recommend performing a test patch to ensure you are happy with the finished results.

• Stir well and apply liberally and evenly with a synthetic brush or good quality medium pile roller.
• Allow to dry for 4-6 hours between coats, we recommend applying two coats.
• For best results use Sandtex Rapid Dry Plus Paint in Satin or Gloss as a top coat.

Q. Will Sandtex Rapid Dry Undercoat help adhesion?

A. This undercoat paint provides excellent adhesion to a wide range of surfaces, including wood, metal, and previously painted surfaces. It forms a strong bond with the substrate, creating a solid foundation for the topcoat. Good adhesion ensures that the topcoat adheres well to the surface, leading to a longer-lasting and more durable paint finish.

A. As the name suggests, Sandtex Rapid Dry Undercoat has a fast-drying formula. This means that it dries much quicker than standard undercoat paints, allowing you to complete your painting project in less time. The rapid drying feature is particularly useful when you have a tight schedule or need to apply multiple coats within a short period.

Delivery

All orders placed on a working day before 3pm will be dispatched on the same day for next working day delivery. Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £3.99 for express delivery.

You can now choose some special delivery options. 

• AM Delivery: Get your order by 12pm
  If placed on a working day before 3pm, the AM Delivery will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday AM (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day for delivery on the following AM. All orders have a charge of £12.99 for AM delivery.

• Late Cut-Off: Get an extra hour to place your order for Next Working Day delivery.
  Orders placed on a working day before 4pm will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 4pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £5.99 for Late Cut-Off delivery.

• Saturday Delivery: Get your order on Saturday
  Option available on Fridays. Orders placed on Friday before 3pm will be delivered on Saturday. All orders have a charge of £9.95 for Saturday delivery.

Exceptions

We do not deliver to the Channel Islands or the Republic of Ireland

Returns

We offer a no quibble 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging.

We always recommend getting samples or contacting us for free of charge colourcharts. We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

Faulty Items

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you. Please get in touch to discuss these options. If you find fault after 30 days of purchase you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly as they will be able to offer support with the product.
