Ronseal Quick Drying Decking Oil is a water-based oil that protects and nourishes decking with a lovely natural matt finish. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dirt and grease.

Application should only be done on a warm, dry day (above 10°C)

Make sure your deck is completely dry before starting the application.

For new decking:

Most new decks come with a bit of waterproofing protection.This could stop the oil from soaking in properly. To avoid this, give your new deck a good scrub with a Decking Cleaner and Reviver. Once scrubbed throw some water on the deck and see if it beads. If it doesn't, it's ready for the oil. If it does, you'll have to clean it again until the water stops beading. Allow the wood to thoroughly dry before applying the oil. Make sure you waterproof any freshly cut deck ends using a Decking End Grain Protector.

For previously treated decks:

If your deck has been painted or stained, use a Decking Stripper to get it back to bare wood.

If your deck has been previously oiled, don't try to cover a dark oil with a lighter colour. You'll need to strip it first using a Decking Stripper.

Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results

• Give the tin a shake continuously for a couple of minutes.
• Pour the oil into a suitable container and dip in your brush or applicator pad.
• Before starting the application, check you are happy with the colour. Find a small hidden patch of wood and try it. Remember, the shade label is only and indication of the colour.
• Start in the furthest corner, brushing along the length of the boards. Work on 3-4 boards at a time so you don't get any overlap marks.
• Apply 2 coats, leave 20 minutes between each coat.
• After 24 hours you'll be able to get your furniture out and use the deck.

Protect from frost

Don’t empty any left over oil into drains or watercourses. Your local authority may have special ways to get rid of unused oils.

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

All tinted paint purchases are final and non-refundable. If you're unsure about your selection, please refer to the product listing or contact us for guidance before ordering. Once mixed, tinted paints cannot be returned or refunded, regardless of delivery delays or changes in circumstances.

While we aim to meet delivery timelines, we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather, or other external factors.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Incorrect Item

If we have sent you a different item from what you ordered, we will be happy to organise an exchange for the correct goods at no extra charge to yourself, please get in touch to organise this.

Faulty Items

Faulty items can be refunded or exchanged within 30 days. All returns are tested, and if no fault is found, no refund will be issued you'll have the option to have the item returned. For faults discovered after 30 days, please contact the manufacturer for further support.
