A solvent based paint with an aluminium finish, Dulux Trade Aluminium Paint is ideal for use on interior or exterior wood and metal surfaces. It is capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 260 degrees celsius and is available in 2.5 litre and 5 litre tins. It has good resistance to high levels of humidity and areas of heavy condensation, however it is not suitable for use in immersed areas.

Preparation

Make sure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry. It is particularly important that new surfaces are fully dry and free from all defective or poorly adhering material such as dirt, grease or wax.

The level of heat resistance achieved will be dependent upon the heating cycle, whether it is sustained or fluctuating, and also upon the extremes of temperature involved, but generally Dulux Trade Aluminium Paint will withstand temperatures up to 260ºC.

Above that temperature, the aluminium paint should be applied direct to the clean, prepared surface.

Rub down previously painted surfaces, using ‘wet flatting’ methods where possible, and wipe off with a damp, lint free cloth. Pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal may contain harmful lead, so special precautions should be made.

Application

Note: Always read the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin

Stir the paint well before use, to get an even flow. Apply one or two coats with a brush only. Do not spray or apply with a roller.

Aftercare & Storage

Do not store in extreme temperatures. Keep away from frost and store and transport upright
