Not suitable for areas of high wear, wet areas or absorbent surfaces.

For best results always ensure the surface you will be applying Craig & Rose Rust Effect Paint to are thoroughly prepared.

• Fill any cracks or holes in the surface using a suitable filler such Polycell Trade One Fill Filler and sand to a smooth surface.
• Lightly abrade surfaces previously painted with silk, satin or glossy paints.
• Bare or porous surfaces will require sealing with Craig & Rose All Purpose Undercoat.

We recommend performing a practice of the rust effect paint to ensure you are happy with the finished results, try it out on a piece of cardboard or another matt surface.

• Mask off any surrounding surfaces with a good quality masking tape.
• Stir the paint and apply using a high-quality synthetic wide brush or natural/synthetic sponge.
• Apply 2-3 coats of the copper effect paint with random brush marks.
• Do not apply too thinly or overspread it needs to have a nice thick coating.
• Allow 12 hours between each coat.
• Once the final coat has been able to dry for 12 hours apply the Rust activator solution using a wide brush or sponge.
• The rust effect will show in 1 hour, to accelerate the rusting effect brush or sponge water immediately after the Activator is applied.
• On exterior surfaces the rust effect will continue to develop over time.
• To protect the surface all the rust effect to dry for 7 days and apply a clear water-based varnish. To avoid damaging the effect apply the varnish in one direction using very light brush strokes.

Q. How do you create the rust effect?

A. The Craig & Rose Rust Effect Paint is easy to use, simply use 2-3 coats of the paint applying in nice thick coats, using a wide brush with random brush strokes to create a less uniform look. Use the Rust Activator Solution and apply with a wide brush or sponge in a random formation.

Q. Can I use the Craig & Rose Rust Effect in high-traffic areas?

A. The rust effect paint is not suitable for areas of high wear it is a very delicate finish, however, you can protect your walls or ornaments with a clear water-based varnish. Just ensure to apply the varnish in one direction and in light brush strokes to ensure you don't change the appearance of your rust effect.

  If placed on a working day before 3pm, the AM Delivery will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday AM (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day for delivery on the following AM. All orders have a charge of £12.99 for AM delivery.

• Late Cut-Off: Get an extra hour to place your order for Next Working Day delivery.
  Orders placed on a working day before 4pm will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 4pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £5.99 for Late Cut-Off delivery.

• Saturday Delivery: Get your order on Saturday
  Option available on Fridays. Orders placed on Friday before 3pm will be delivered on Saturday. All orders have a charge of £9.95 for Saturday delivery.

We do not deliver to the Channel Islands or the Republic of Ireland

We offer a no quibble 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging.

We always recommend getting samples or contacting us for free of charge colourcharts. We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

Faulty Items

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you. Please get in touch to discuss these options. If you find fault after 30 days of purchase you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly as they will be able to offer support with the product.
