Barrettine Woodworm Treatment is suitable for interior use, for the traditional and deep penetrating treatment of woodworm. It is a water-based treatment that's low in odour. Use it on furniture, structural timbers, wooden floors. This is a highly effective woodworm killer that both prevents and exterminates wood boring insects. Use Barrettine Woodworm Treatment to prevent and remove all woodboring insects including Common Woodworm, Powder Post Beetle, Wood Boring Weevils, House Longhorn Beetle and Furniture Beetle. It eradicates both the woodworm larvae and eggs when in direct contact.

Ensure that the surface to be treated is clean and dry.

• Remove any bore dust (frass) / sawdust by vacuuming (otherwise this will preferentially absorb the product).
• Remove all surface coatings such as paint, varnish etc, wherever possible as these coatings inhibit the effective penetration of the product. Note; Special Care to be taken when removing old Lead paints.
• Badly attacked wood should be cut away and burnt, safely making any necessary structural repairs prior to treatment.
• Remove absorbent materials and insulation from roof areas etc before application.
• Ensure all electrical wiring etc are in sound condition before treatment. Isolate the area of treatment from electrical supply by removing fuses before application.

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin. To check that Barrettine Woodworm Killer has no effect on colour or finish on sensitive areas, test on an inconspicuous area.

• Apply to clean, dry wood to maximise penetrating power and therefore effectiveness.
• Apply by brush or by using a low pressure, coarse (non-atomising) spray
• Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly treated and are wet after application (but not dripping) especially any end grain, joints, exit holes of the woodworm or crevices in the wood.
• It is recommended 2 applications are made to ensure the correct coverage is achieved. Insufficient application may not kill existing infestations nor prevent future attacks.
• Remove as much product as possible from brushes etc before cleaning all with Barrettine Low Odour White Spirit or traditional White Spirit. Splashes can be cleaned using White Spirit.
• Allow at least one hour between applications to enable the first treatment to fully absorb into the wood.
• Avoid contact with plastics, bitumen roofing felts and similar materials.

Floor coverings: treated floors must be allowed to dry and ventilate for up to 3 weeks before relaying foam backed carpets or underlay.

Store between 0-30°C, out of direct sunlight and protect from frost.

Once opened, close lid tightly between uses. If stored correctly, shelf life will be two years from date of manufacture.

Faulty Items
