Fiddes Hard Wax Oil is a blend of natural oils & waxes for use on interior natural wood flooring, kitchen wood worktops, and areas subjected to a high degree of wear. It's formulated to offer exceptional durability and be both water and stain-resistant. It's perfect for busy family homes as it's quick-drying, easy to apply and maintain, and child-safe when dry. it offers excellent coverage and a beautiful natural-looking finish in a range of colours.

For all Fiddes Hard Wax Oil with a tint (colour) with the exceptions of White, Belgium Grey and Natural, a single coat is recommended and then finished with Clear Hard Wax Oil.
Fiddes Hard Wax Oil Natural (Formally known as Oak Lightening Hard Wax Oil) is lightly tinted, once applied it maintains the natural colour of the timber.

Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, debris and any previous finishes. Remove any previous finishes by sanding with a 150 grit sand paper and remove any dust.
Before applying the product test a small area on the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results. Colours may vary depending on surface to be painted.
- Ensure area is well ventilated during and after application.
- Fiddes Hard Wax Oil does not require thinning and is ready to use.
- Apply using a floor brush or good quality brush.
- Apply in the direction of the grain.
- Leave in warm, well ventilated conditions for 4-6 hours.
- It is recommended to top coat any tinted Fiddes Hard Wax Oil with one coat of Clear Hard Wax Oil.
- Allow the second coat to dry for 4-6 hours.

Cleaning
For regular cleaning apply a light spray of Fiddes Wood Surface Cleaner, buff the area once dry removing any minor blemishes.
Maintenance
Apply Fiddes Wood Surface Cleaner periodically to areas of heavy useage. Re-application of Fiddes Hard Wax Oil may be required in certain areas, where staining is apparent. To renovate the previous application of Fiddes Hard Wax Oil, lightly sand the area with 150 grit sandpaper, and re-apply sparingly.
Q. Can Fiddes Hard Wax Oil product be thinned?
A. Fiddes Hard Wax Oil does not require thinning and is ready to use, thinning this product can affect the durability of this finish.
Q. Does the tinted Fiddes Hard Wax Oil need a top coat?
A. In the case of tinted (colored) Fiddes Hard Wax Oil, it is generally advisable to apply a single coat, followed by a finishing application of Clear Hard Wax Oil. This recommendation applies to all tinted options except White, Belgium Grey, and Natural.
Q. Can you varnish over Fiddes Hard Wax Oil?
A. You can not apply anything over the top of wax, the varnish would not adhere to the surface.
